There's no real rules when it comes to this current conservative Supreme Court.

On one hand, the conservatives will stop a decision in December 2025 because it was too close to the November 2026 midterms.

On the other hand, the conservatives will rush through a decision on the VRA while voters are actually voting in primaries so that the states have just enough time to redraw districts 6 months after saying it was too late to make decisions before the elections.

The conservatives don't even try to look like they're trying to be consistent anymore.

One of the most brazen things I have ever seen, other than this, was New York State changing it's statute of limitations laws to specifically allow E Jean Carroll to sue Trump in civil court for sexual assault, a civil court where you are found guilty by preponderance of evidence (which there actually wasn't any evidence) and, of course, the jury is picked from a bunch of blue people. And democrats claim there is no lawfare and they claim Trump is taking democracy away while they themselves are the ones actually doing it.
