"If thou wouldst rule well, thou must rule for God, and to do that, thou must be ruled by him....Those who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants." –William Penn

Although Penn's authority over the colony was officially subject only to that of the king, through his Frame of Government he implemented a democratic system with full freedom of religion, fair trials, elected representatives of the people in power, and a separation of powers — again ideas that would later form the basis of the American constitution. The freedom of religion in Pennsylvania (complete freedom of religion for everybody who believed in God) brought not only English, Welsh, German and Dutch Quakers to the colony, but also Huguenots (French Protestants), Mennonites, Amish, and Lutherans from Catholic German states.

“I agree to this Constitution with all its faults, if they are such: because I think a General Government necessary for us, and there is no Form of Government but what may be a Blessing to the People if well-administred; and I believe farther that this is likely to be well administred for a Course of Years and can only end in Despotism as other Forms have done before it, when the People shall become so corrupted as to need Despotic Government, being incapable of any other.”-- Ben Franklin

Although Franklin never seemed to be all that religious, he wrote extensively about the necessity of morality and the important role the church and religion to maintain a civil society via morality.

A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins. Benjamin Franklin

Is God in the lives of men the only hope against the tyrannical power of other men?

I would say yes, without fear of God rulers of men fear no atrocity against the ruled. History has proven time and again civilizations without faith in or fear of God suffer democide, genocide and other assorted forms of mass murder.

Ask yourself why the result of Roe v. Wade was permitted, by no less than ten Presidents, to stand; a collective failure of action which has resulted in the mass murder of tens of millions of American unborn children. But it gets even darker. Ask yourself why at least four generations of otherwise decent American men and women have allowed tens of millions of unborn children to be mass murdered in abortion clinics over the last forty-eight years.

The answer to both above questions is LACK OF FEAR OF GOD.

Moses entered a world where slavery was the norm. In fact, most men who have walked the earth have been slaves. So what Moses did was revolutionary. He led his people out of slavery, and gave them a day of rest.

Without this, we would all be slaves and have no weekend.

Ironic about Benjamin Franklin as he was a brilliant man that spent a great deal of time chasing women.

There is a fundamental point that EVERYONE should understand: Mankind is intrinsically evil. Many of us think of it as "Original Sin," but it is universal.

So one should never question why some people, cultures, and societies are evil. Every society tends toward evil, if you look closely enough. What you should question is, when you see a society that is NOT evil, why? What influences in that society have managed to turn it away from human nature.

In the United States, that factor is the Bible and general religiosity, which predominated among the Founders. They took a moment for prayer before every significant meeting.

Today's Left is EVIL, which is why they are trying to break down all of the standards and mores that brought us to this point. And the latest personification of that evil is women, demonstrating for abortion "rights." Disgusting. Evil.

And they represent human nature.
