If conservatives really want to improve pay and improve jobs for the working class why not simply support a higher minimum wage for jobs Americans are ALREADY doing? Why not support union labor protection laws so that the workers can get better pay and benefits for jobs they are already doing?

If the plan is to tariff Americans (yes we pay tariffs) so that it makes us buy more expensive US made goods so that better jobs are available in the US (I guess sewing jeans and gluing shoe soles are better jobs) then why not simply drive better wages for jobs we are already doing?

I am not sure I understand the conservative position on business and workers. Can someone legitimately explain the objective of conservative policy without flame wars?

I forgot who it was, but someone posted to me that min wage and tariffs were no longer really relevant. I'm not sure what they meant about tariffs, and I didn't want to really find out what they meant, but

what people need to live on in Calif or NY compared to Miss really limits the min wage to what we want the bottom of the wage market to be in Miss.

What you are talking about isn’t wage increases. You are talking about people getting different jobs that pay more.

However, If you have more jobs in the US as you suggested then low skilled job wages will rise as skilled jobs reach down into the labor market to higher.

The end result is higher wages. So if higher wages are ok, why not raise minimum wages?

Trump gave a tax break worth $2,500 per year to working classers….his energy policy will keep fuel cheap for working class folks…Trump intends to send all illegals back to their shitholes to improve wages and the quality of life for the working class, Trump intends to get illegals out of our classrooms, our healthcare system and social service institutions…he wants illegals out of black communities to stop them from driving up rents on poor blacks…All Trump does is look out for working class Americans while Democrats rollout policy after policy that fucks them in the ass.

No. I worked my way up in an early job from an entry-level position at $2 an hour to a midlevel position at $5 an hour.
This was in the early 1970s, when $5 bought a lot of stuff. Gas was 25 cents, movies were 60 cents, breakfast special at a diner was 99 cents. I rented a furnished studio for $25. and had no bills and money in the bank. I also worked as a bartender at a college pub making $35 a shift on Friday and Saturday nights.

How exactly do you come up with the crazy idea that a wage increase of $1.00 only costs 79 cents? If a company pays 1 dollar it not only costs 1 dollar but you have their part of social security, Medicare and unemployment insurance. Plus it increases benefits if they have benefits. So it is over 1 dollar.
