Communism is, in my thinking, a centrally planned, top-down economy, The big bosses make all the decisions and the little guys have no input. Sounds like every Army I've ever learned about.

Public doesn’t = socialism

Socialism, in a general sense, is the transfer of wealth from producers to parasites. In a specific sense, it is government controlling the means of production. A public street is neither of those things.
