Nearly every single person supports socialist programs. The only question is who is benefitting.
Only when you intentionally mislabel it.
Only when you love it when you benefit. What the Federal Reserve does is NO different than what people want with health care.
The people with Medicare or former military and the people who have employee sponsored healthcare do not want it. Single-payer will do away with employer sponsored healthcare. Those of us that actually make money will foot the bill through enormous taxes or surcharges. The losers will pay nothing as usual. The quality of care will decrease dramatically as there is no competition. There will be a shortage of qualified doctors, leading to an influx of less qualified doctor’s to make up the difference. Doctor’s salaries, particularly specialists, will drop drastically to a point where the best and the brightest no longer choose that profession, decreasing the quality of care. The US will no longer have the clear advantage in the development of new drugs because there won’t be a financial incentive for the massive costs of R&D. There is a reason the vast majority of new ground breaking medicines come from US Pharma; we don’t have a government run healthcare system. The government would rather people die off anyway...saves them money. Nobody is governing the government. The government will decide what they will pay for and what they won’t pay for and only the elite and government folks will have a say. Many elective surgeries will no longer be covered. People over certain ages will be kicked to the curb. (see Ezekiel Emmanuel’s comments) This is what will happen in reality. Nobody will be better off because of it in the long run, even the non-contributors, as they currently have access to better care (more qualified, better medicines, less waiting times) than they would under a fully government run system.
