It can be seen either way in a conservative philosophy.

Many conservatives are also very religious. IN the beginning when conservative and leftist politics were defined, sources of tradition and authority were considered to be the most important ascpect of society, i.e., the crown, the military, the police, the church, etc.

It was the left that had no use for these institutions, or the way they defined the role of government in peoples lives.


So it is, that most religious authorities, (conservative,) define life both as sacred and beginning at conception.

It follows then, that if every human embryo and fetus is a human life, ending it is murder.

There are already laws on the books that outlaw murder.

Enforcing laws is a conservative position, the left actually likes criminals and feel like criminals are their allies.

It's certainly not the kind of conservatism that emphasizes individual rights and limited government. But the Republican party has always been an uncomfortable alliance between that kind of conservatism, and the right wing culture war shit.
