It does relate. Throughout the forum on gun matters, many say they have a gun because the criminals have guns. So by that logic, a mailbox criminal carries a gun.

I see you never got farther than hs if that. There is no logic on your rather crude analogy. Lets add context.
A criminal illegal alien is stealing from your mailbox. You go out with your legal gun concealed. The criminal pulls out his gun and points it at you.,or he threatens you with a knife.
We now have a stand your ground situation and use of deadly force is legal moral and required.
See how context works. Its noit about the mailbox its about stopping serious bodily injury or death

Expanding the analogy, guns don’t make people criminals any more than birds make trees, but we can all agree that birds sit in trees and most of us sane people agree that criminals have guns and won’t just turn them if they were made illegal.

In many areas, fear and perception of something outweighs the facts, evidence, and statistics. So people over perceive and over react.

In the UK, we have guns. As kids we had air rifles and air pistols. Normally .22. then as teens, shotguns. In nearly 60 years, never had anyone shoot a firearm in my direction. According to American gun nuts, I should arm up because criminals have guns.

It's easier to drill through a 32 feet concrete wall containing rebar than get through the skull of a gun nut.

I am from the South. Growing up, kids had shotguns on gun racks of their trucks. Nobody got shot. It is certainly a societal change. I don’t deny that. I would blame the degradation of society on the progressive movement, but I digress.

It is undeniable that criminals in the US have guns and lots of them. Making guns illegal doesn’t make them go away. If guns were made illegal, only law abiding citizens would turn them in. Criminals, by definition, break the law.

Also, the intent of our 2nd Amendment is also to protect us from government tyranny. Granted, this has become much more difficult to do with the advanced weaponry of the military, but there is strength in numbers and always will be.

Let me help you understand use of deadly force law.
A reasonable person must believe serious bodily injury or death is immanent. That means going to happen fight now this second. That test wasnt met as she was unarmed and far away not even aware of the cop who shot her. No other cop saw her as a threat they didnt fire. She was not the first through I saw the video and there is no fist through standard. The cop had a history of gun problems and is now indicted for fraud.
