The gun was purchased legally for him, by a guy named Black and stored at his family’s house
After the trial the gun was destroyed
The gun was illegal. That's why it was destroyed. If it was legal, it would have been returned to him.
Not being convicted doesn't mean they didn't prove the underlying facts of the case.
They proved he crossed state lines with an illegal firearm, but the judge threw out he charge on a technicality.
