I don't see where that qualifies him from a bigger funeral than someone who did a lot more like Charlie Daniels who died earlier this month (and is also associated with the tremendous city of Jackson, Mississippi)

Lewis was so full of himself, he didn't think that he was replaceable even on his death bed refusing to quit.

The McCain and Bush requiems were more about President Trump than the deceased. Particularly in the case of McCain who made a point in his final instructions to ban the Trumps from his funeral. What insane hatred on the part of McCain. And his family still bitched about Trump not showing.

1. I have just watched about 20 minutes of President Obama's eulogy.

2. As expected, it was very eloquent. He knows that he is a riveting speaker.

3. His comments got several standing ovations.

4. I did not watch the two other presidents' comments, but President Obama indirectly criticized President Trump, and he referred to the recent protesters as "peaceful," which is demonstrably untrue in the case of Seattle and Portland and Atlanta.

5. I hope that President Obama will also use his justly praised oratory skills to encourage certain young men in Chicago and New York City and Baltimore and other cities to stop their violent ways and to become responsible citizens of this nation. Such a change of heart on their part would be a wonderful tribute to Representative Lewis, IMHO.

I'm sure John Lewis would be very proud to have President Obama deliver his eulogy.

President Obama delivered a masterful eulogy, praising John Lewis as a true patriot, while at the same time calling out the anti-vote Trump and Republicans without calling either of them by name. Truly masterful!

In other words, he used the speech to promote socialism and try to denounce our President for political purposes.

I guess even a funeral is no longer a sacred place and has to be profaned by politics. Although nothing new here- libs have been politicizing requiems for ages, from Wellstone to McCain , to Horst Wessel, all the way back to antiquity at Julius Caesar's funeral

It is a political event, like all Liberal Funerals. The fact that Sleepy Joe forgot about Social Distancing was a huge faux pas. His handlers are going to think twice about letting him out of the basement for the next big event. He probably won't be allowed out until the debates and probably not even then. My guess is that the DNC is going to send over a Fake Sleepy Joe to the Cleveland Clinic for the debate.
