Pope Francis apologizes for...

being human.

Sorry, Lady. I must have my 'faults', also. Forgive me, Lord.

When person(s) and/or the world makes a 'big' deal over human beings being 'short' of the glory of God, that attitude either leads astray or makes them jump off cliffs. Especially since these 'authority' crticisms often are the initial 'sparks' which kindle whole emtire forest fires.

The woman initiated violence by grabbing him and refusing to let go. The Pope has nothing to apologize for.

If you watched the clip you saw that Francis was moving down the line of people. The lady's expression made it clear that she was very eager for her turn. Just as he gets up to her, Francis moved away. She reached out to him. He slapped her away. His job is to shepherd the sheep, not rough them up. An apology is appropriate.

I chuckled when I saw the clip on TV.

His Holiness is accustomed to be treated with awe and respect, so he really looked angry after he slapped her hand and walked away.

I am astonished that His Holiness's bodyguards had not coached him ahead of time on how to graciously handle such situations.

Well, at least we all know that he is an ordinary human being like all of us.
