People receiving welfare are complaining they now cannot buy candy and soda with tax money they are given

Bullcrap. I spent at least half of my life being poor. I was raised dirt poor by my maternal grandmother. I know what it's like to have month left after the end of the money and eat mac and cheese out of a box for a week or more to make it to the next payday. When I started with the phone company at thirty, many of my meals were the old Kraft Spaghetti and meat flavored sauce out of a box with a package of spaghetti added to it to make two meals. My only luxury was a medium Shakey's Pizza and ONE paperback on payday. The rest of the two weeks I went without lunch to afford a bus pass to get to work. Neither my grandmother nor I ever took a dime of welfare or food stamps because we had our pride if nothing else.
I agree with you Skippy
We need to make poor people suffer.
If you suffered in poverty, shouldn’t others?

Of course Billionaires can deduct lunches at five star restaurants and claim their yacht as a business expense.
But I will be damned if I have to treat a poor person to a soda

Yeah, that's true.

Huh?

Wait a minute. Do you mean welfare isn't in the form of cash so if you have any money left over after paying for staple food products you can't buy a Kit Kat bar or a Dr. Pepper?
If you have money left for candy and soda over after buying milk, juice, cheese, bread, ground beef, inexpensive cuts of steak, chicken, seafood, veggies, rice, fruit, tuna, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, PB, jam, pasta and pasta sauce, cans of soup, then your food stamp allowance is too high.

Single mothers with four illegitimate children - and NOT a single daddy paying child support - gets more than $1100 TAX-FREE every month. If those kids are all under age 10, then yes….she has left over every month. Her allowance should be reduced.

.

Those benefits are specifically for food. Alcohol and tobacco are not food.

.
I can see that but, it seems unfair to me not to let him have enough money for a little more than "just surviving" and if he doesn't spend every penny by the end of the month why can't he have a beer or two or go to a movie?

So, making poor people commit suicide slowly is okay, especially when doctors can suck all those bucks out of those who eat candy and drink soda all day, in place of meat, fish, poultry and produce.

Oh, I didn't know that.

It's not possible for me to "understand" something I don't know about. But why isn't a recipient of welfare allowed to use his allowance any way he wants? If he gets X amount every month what happens if he doesn't spend it all by the next month?
Yes, he (or more often SHE) will lose it. That’s why welfare recipients have a standalone freezer: to store all the frozen steak they stock up on the end of the month. In the meantime, self-supporting working class families can afford steak maybe twice a month.

They do get cash benefits as well as food benefits, and many choose to spend their cash benefits on alcohol, tobacco and movies. Illicit drugs, too.

I worked in a deli when I was in high school and you could not use food stamps for candy or soft drinks. Has that changed?
A couple years ago a woman in front of me at an convenience store. Bought 4 20 oz mountain dews with her snap card. I was thinking she could've at least bought a 2 liter. So yes they can buy junk food with it.

And P.S. Welfare recipients have to abide by laws that stipulate what he can spend taxpayer money on.

Personally, I don’t care what other adults eat

I guess that depends upon the prices and cost of living.

Not everyone without an income fits that description. You're not a humanitaria, I can see.

And that has changed in some states. If I was asked to vote for how welfare recipients are allowed to spend their benefits, I'd definitely vote for healthy food only. Why should I feed someone's diabetes and cardiovascular disease with my tax dollars?

Besides, the ingredients to make your own unhealthy food are also paid for, so the least one could do is get off their behind and bake a cake or a batch of cookies.

That is what other forms of welfare are for! Not SNAP benefits. You must be foreign because you have no clue how this works. Right?

Yet you are fine with the fruits of your labor being given to the Military Industrial Complex
What the hell are you talking about. Those soldiers risk their lives for you to be able to say stupid shit like that.
How are "those soldiers" risking their lives for JoeB131? Did they liberate him from a POW camp maybe?
