Real conservatives are just talk. America is a nation of overlapping eras. From revolutionary era to agrarian to continued expansion to preindustrial to industrial to postindustrial. Each era there is a difference. There is a difference in how rights are interpreted. To me, we need to use common sense. And we need to make tough decisions to keep the socialism that you want. Draconian ways of running socialism will give many more people a piece of a smaller pie. Socialism is sharing. Privileged employment with great pensions needs to give some of it back to those who do not have it. This is middle class I am talking about. Tell me if I go to the Teamsters and say this. or police, fire, transportation, monopoly, government, trades and other unions. I will feel the love. Yet it will be force on people one day because there will be massive unrest from those who do not share in the wealth. If a mayor came to office and near froze the budget and changed pension rules on anything with union employees at the end of 4 years the city would be doing more than treading water. They would be having massive positive yearly budgets to do what they want with. Including tax cuts if not sharing it with those not privileged enough in a socialism society.
