I don't believe in the marketplace of ideas. It's a crock designed to make people think that they have something worthy to say. Most people don't. Competition is not essential in communist markets.

When one of America's dying parties is in cahoots with a fascist corporate media to exile all dissident voices from the marketplace of ideas -- that's NOT Communism. Didn't read thru the thread I see. I've laid open my motivation here.. Today they send all the Conservatives to Exile Island. Tomorrow they come after ME for promoting Independent candidates or Libertarians. AND YOU -- are somewhere in that progression when your new masters take full control of the media from their fascist corporate buddies.

I'm not who you think I am. You dont know me. I want BOTH parties to die more quickly than they are. And I don't want to lose freedoms or free markets to commies and socialists. Beyond that -- whatever war YOU THINK you're fighting has MORE than 2 combatant tribes. There's a Big Middle of folks who think Dems and Repubs suck and want nothing to do with their destruction of politics in America..

I TOLERATE anything that does not involve me. Tolerance is the PRE-REQUISITE for EVERBODY's liberties/freedoms. Tolerance is now gone. I didn't kick it ass out, the media, corporate oligarchs and political tribal wars did that.

So points of view are all valid.. They just NEED to be defended and tested and RATIONALLY DISCUSSED. Not ALL POV is really defensible. But folks need to hash that out with HONEST discussion. And HONEST discussion has left the country.
And that was my commitment to USMB as a moderator.

Have you seen the mid-day bread line photos in capitalistic USA from the 1930s? Of course you have. There were no socialistic safety nets and stimulus checks then. We didn't even have unemployment insurance. But through charity, we had bread lines and soup kitchens open all over this great nation. Will we see them again in the future? There's no telling.

Govt already is too big for all that "grass roots" direct action. When I lived in Cali there were constant battles over "soup kitchens" and people making sandwich meals for the homeless in Golden Gate park.. City at THAT time wanted a monopoly over anything edible. And it's only gotten worse. Mayors and governors had to suspend law during Covid that prevented "repurposing" of food..

Can I say as an anarcho-anything -- you're a major FOOL to be schilling for a party that wants BIGGER MORE MUSCULAR govt? You're feeding the power of these folks to ELIMINATE chaotic yet organized personal activism.

Ever read about "Chaordic Organization"?? Was a Capitalist invention designed to organize very disparate members in a common cause. Chaordic as in "chaos and order" at the same time.

And the 30s were a crisis situation. Not a normal societal structure we want to emulate. But -- lurching left WILL get back to the "good ole days" with FDR eventually. Why we might even have "Federal Media Review boards" that decide what what scripts Hollywood can produce by this Spring. Just like FDR did.

Whatever it takes, I suppose, to quell the over-the-top outrage and impotent threats coming from the far right. I don't think deplatforming is the solution. It's a shitty stopgap to a festering wound. But I can say when you are invited to sit on your neighbor's porch and you show up and take a big steaming shit in the middle of the floor, chances are, the neighbor is not going to invite you to spend time on his porch any longer. Especially after signing your neighbor's written release specifically forbidding shitting on the floor.

Wingers from both political tribes have been using social media as their toilets for far too long. I believe it's a cancer on our society so I don't play in those reindeer games. They can all rot and go penniless as far as I'm concerned.

This GOP killed net neutrality. I believe the recent moves by tech giants to deplatform is a direct consequence of that mistake. Net neutrality kept the balance of speech and profit in check. Now profit is the only priority for them. That's on the GOP.

Lastly, you're being over dramatic. In a list of current major problems in this country, Republicans being shunned by social media won't even make the outline. Have some perspective, for ***** sake. Social media isn't real life. You are literally complaining about the right to propagate fake reality (social media). America has collectively become cowed, stupid and soft.

Nothing wrong with promoting those whom you agree with politically. I will continue to so unabated, without resorting to social media. What's hard about that?

If you never realized that the mainstream media was and has been created and majority controlled by the left for decades, well, then you clearly weren't paying attention. The right is now using the same playbook, but are still far, far behind. It will still take time for them to match the level of the left's numbers, reach and deception.

It's a bit of a Republican cliché to say that the Democratic Party favors big government. That's played out IMHO.
My personal activism, chaotic or otherwise, will never be eliminated, probably never even be leaned on.
You have to do, what you must do. with conviction. Anything less and it makes you look like blogger. Wimpy isn't a good look on anyone.
