It Was Just a Halftime Show. The Meltdown Reveals How Dumb We’ve Become

Well, some new facts are beginning to trickle in about the SB after the usual series of complete lies. From ESPN itself:
  1. The game averaged 124.9 million viewers overall, not the 149.9 claimed by some.
  2. The Big Bunny was only the 4th most watched halftime show, down despite months of national marketing.
  3. This year ended a streak of audience increases for the past four Super Bowls.
  4. Though the TPUSA program peaked at 5 million viewers on YouTube alone problem is it was carried on other services, as well as live OTA broadcast viewed my millions more (including myself).
  5. Nielsen did not measure any of the YouTube livestream viewership. Of the linear networks that also carried it, the only one Nielsen measures is broadcast network Charge!
  6. YouTube figures alone show there have been 21,208,583 views of the alternate TPUSA halftime show through Tuesday night, according to the conservative organization's page. Bad Bunny's show only had 61,311,972 views on YouTube.
  7. The NFL said over 55% of all social views came from international markets.
  8. Telemundo averaged 3.3 million viewers, making it the most-watched Super Bowl Spanish-language broadcast in the United States with its peak Spanish-viewership during the Spanish Big Bunny halftime show.
And those are finally some real FACTS.

Ever listen to band called Green Day, Rage against the machine? Bob Dylan? Etc etc. so many popular bands and musicians wrote about sticking it to the man. That’s the foundation of rock and roll. That’s liberty.

Too many Trump cultists are just butt hurt that their man is being stood up to
Those bands suck, AND they are corporatist WHORES! What a joke! Those are not rebels. Perhaps they were at some point in time, but then they sold out and became shills. Rage IS the Machine now.

Real rebels are bands like Sepultura, Obituary, Napalm Death, etc...

F- You, *****!

A very close friend who grew up in mainland China made the very same observation.
The Chinese couple who have owned the house next to my parents for 50 years are beyond appalled.

That was an odd reply to a post that never actually mentioned rebels.

And while I can see describing Sepultura as rebellious (non-conformity in my inner self), Obituary seems like like more of a classic 90s death metal band. Maybe their newer stuff is more rebellious? I haven’t really listened to anything from them in many years, and never bothered to learn a lot of the lyrics 🙃

I’m not a Napalm Death fan so don’t know either way.

I like Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, myself.

They just do what they like to do.

The problem was that the symbolism could be interpreted in more than one way. On one hand, it could be seen as a cultural declaration of war — as if saying, ‘Look at all these flags; we outnumber you; we will conquer you.’ It was all in Spanish, or almost all of it. There was a lot of symbolism.

I guess my point went directly over your head

They did it because the official halftime show was boring.

Why are you so butt hurt over an alternative half time show? Oh because less people are tuning into the gay promotion show.

Bad Bunny is Puerto Rican, and his performance—and the way he chose to present it—made me think about Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican people. I believe Puerto Ricans deeply desire freedom and independence; they want to be their own nation with their own culture, but many are afraid to take the leap. Perhaps it is time to end American colonialism and allow Puerto Rico to choose its own path. Many believe the island could reach greater heights if it were free to govern itself.

Over the decades, tensions have occasionally erupted into violence, including the attack on the United States Congress, the bombings of American air bases in Puerto Rico, and the guerrilla incident in the 1970s in which several U.S. sailors were killed on a bus. Despite these events, the argument for independence remains rooted in the belief that Puerto Ricans deserve the right to determine their own future.

It should be clear that many Puerto Ricans do not want to become Americans in the cultural sense. English is America’s unifying language, and almost everyone in the mainland speaks it. English has been taught in Puerto Rican schools since 1948, yet today only about 50% of the population speaks English at all, and only about 5% speak it at home. That makes it clear they don’t truly want to assimilate as Americans. What they do want is American citizenship and the security that comes with it—like a little bird in a nest that doesn’t want to leave. At some point, it’s time to give them a nudge and let them soar.
