Oklahoma Passes Bill Banning ALL Abortions - No Rape Exceptions - 10 years in Prison for Performing one

What is the religious basis for opposing the mother's decision regarding childbearing?

They've made it clear more than once that they want to ban all abortions in all circumstances, even if the mother's life is directly threatened by the pregnancy. Arizona literally passed a law making it legal for doctors to lie to their patients about risks if they believe that the information would lead to the patient wanting an abortion. This means that if a doctor in Arizona discovers that a woman is a risk of a lift threatening complication in her pregnancy, her doctor can lie to her and tell her that there is no risk, an that doctor is then immune to any lawsuits or criminal charges if the patient dies from those complications.

My, my, my. An assertion of fact with no substantiation. I'll certainly jump RIGHT on believing it just because you said it . . . oh, no, I won't. I guess we know where you came by the laughable notion that you "know" more about what people are thinking than they do: you're an idiot talking-point minion.

The legislation bans all abortions except in the case of medical emergencies, and makes performing an abortion a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

Women in Oklahoma must now keep their rape baby as an eternal reminder of what happened to them - the only exception is a medical emergency.

Thoughts?!

This is what happens when one side goes radical and tries to drag the other side through the mud. You get a equal reaction to it. The pendulum swings both ways and this is the back swing in response to all the ultra liberals who got in everyone's face about abortion, making demands, trying to force everyone to agree with them, the muck slinging and name calling and so on.

If they had calmly and intelligently discussed abortion and not made such a big stink about it then this probably wouldn't have happened.

But then again this is a sane decision because despite me not being religious or basing my stance on abortion off of political views abortion is still wrong because it's murder. If you stab a baby as soon as it comes out of its mother or you kill it while it's inside her you're still killing a baby. Just because it's a blob that doesn't yet resemble a baby inside the mother doesn't mean it isn't a baby. Fancy language and medical jargon and opinions will never change the fact having an abortion is killing a child.

Medical emergency is the only exception to the rule, or if the baby shows it's brain is growing out the outside of its head or some other major defect.

You had not asked me the question, so it was not really rude.

And it is neither unfair and illogical, it is cowardly and shows that these people really do not believe half of what they say they do
I am pro choice. Why? I am not a woman. I have no idea what a woman feels like.
It’s not up to me to tell her to carry a baby. It’s unfair to the father and the baby but life isn’t always fair. That is my stance. You?

I am against abortion but I do not think the solution is to outlaw it. Since the passing of RvW the number of abortions per pregnancy has stayed about the same. The way to cut down on abortions is to cut down on the number of pregnancies. The way to do this is to make birth control as cheap and easy to obtain as a pack of gum.

That is my stance.

Their state, their rules....Abortion is in no way a protected right.

It’s absolutely a protected right. The current flock of Anti American Taliban, are only temporarily in position to hurt women for now. That will change in Avery big way in the not so distant future.

Then we’re going to find out how they deal with having some of their rights taken away. See you down the road fuckwits.

Proud of them. I hope many other states follow suit.

Yep. I bet that is the same thing in Ok. But a woman can pay someone to kill her unborn baby and there is no charge or crime at all.

Does that seem consistent to you?
The mother should be prosecuted.

Hypocrites call abortion murder yet knowingly allow it to happen.

You’re only seeing part of the picture. Many want to get pregnant so they can be “in the system” and live off Govt subsidies for the next 20-25 years. Need to rethink welfare policies.

If that’s the case, then so should the impregnator.
Yes absolutely if he had part in getting the abortion. Or if he was a rapist he should’ve been prosecuted yesterday.

It's true.

You sound completely ignorant when you try to deny that SC makes final rulings on Constitutionality.

They are the final appeal stop, there can be no further legal appeal to a constitutional dispute.
Accurate as far as it goes.

This was decided decades ago and yet here we are

That "final appeal" gets revisited every time a new Justice is appointed.

That’s because up until now murder was called murder and wasn’t given “humane” names like abortion.
Newsflash...abortion has been around as long as humans have been around...but was never called murder until the anti-abortion freaks began calling it that in the last few decades
