Oklahoma Passes Bill Banning ALL Abortions - No Rape Exceptions - 10 years in Prison for Performing one

If you rape a woman in Oklahoma, there is nothing she can do about it?

O'rly?
Women can carry and brandish in Oklahoma.

My wife is an expert with a sawed off shotgun. She'll protect herself AND the kids. :)

Does anyone know if the bill addresses self-administered abortions in any way?

Does this mean Oklahoma will increase the welfare budget to accommodate mothers and kids going on the dole…
This law wasn't passed because of oklahoma. It was passed because planned parenthood in Oklahoma saw an 800% increase in abortion cases coming from Texas because they passed their law.

According to the bible Adam wasn't alive until god breathed into him.

So it can be argued that a fetus isn't alive until it takes its first breath
No....Adam wasn't alive until God breathed life into him because God created him. There was no pregnancy and no life-giving mother.

Ever since then, babies were conceived in the womb, and life begins at conception. Some would argue about survivability and sentience, and that's another argument, but "life" is crested at conception.

Just about every similar ban in other states that have pulled this stunt has been struck down as unconstitutional. I'm sure the same will happen here. I personally gave up long ago trying to figure out why this is even attempted anymore.

A person also goes to prison for rape.

So much for "there is nothing she can do about it."

This is what Republican "governance" gets you

Theater for the rubes.

The legislation bans all abortions except in the case of medical emergencies, and makes performing an abortion a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

Women in Oklahoma must now keep their rape baby as an eternal reminder of what happened to them - the only exception is a medical emergency.

Thoughts?!

Go to a state that allows abortion.

How come if a woman pays someone to kill her baby in the womb none of these laws hold her accountable?
It’s one of these unfair and illogical instances. Life isn’t always fair. Only rude people answer questions with questions.

Would a sinless soul be in any danger of condemnation? Where would it go upon demise of its body?

According to some sources it would suffer for the length of life it was suppose to live. What then? I do not know.

"I've decided THIS is what they want, because it's what I want to argue against!"
They've made it clear more than once that they want to ban all abortions in all circumstances, even if the mother's life is directly threatened by the pregnancy. Arizona literally passed a law making it legal for doctors to lie to their patients about risks if they believe that the information would lead to the patient wanting an abortion. This means that if a doctor in Arizona discovers that a woman is a risk of a lift threatening complication in her pregnancy, her doctor can lie to her and tell her that there is no risk, an that doctor is then immune to any lawsuits or criminal charges if the patient dies from those complications.

You had not asked me the question, so it was not really rude.

And it is neither unfair and illogical, it is cowardly and shows that these people really do not believe half of what they say they do

Why dont we abort abort kittens and puppies rather than euthanize them after birth?

What is the definition of a cat?

What is the definition of a dog?

“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”
“When you catch somebody in a fraud, you are allowed to go by very different rules."
“We fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”
"Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you. We are going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.”

147 Republicans voted to overturn the 2020 Presidential election results.

Following the Republican attempt to overthrow the elected government, the party is continuing its assault on American democracy and our Constitution.

Our Constitution states clearly that the federal government is supreme over state governments. It is called the Supremacy Clause, and it means, among other things, that states cannot pass laws that violate federal law.

Article VI, paragraph 2 clearly states, "This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby.

Roe v. Wade is the law of the land according to the Supreme Court. The court ruled (7–2) in 1973 that unduly restrictive state regulation of abortion is unconstitutional.

Republicans in Oklahoma violated the Constitution.

ABC reports, "The Oklahoma House gave final legislative approval on Tuesday to a bill that would make performing an abortion a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

"With little discussion and no debate, the Republican-controlled House voted 70-14 to send the bill to Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt, who has previously said he'd sign any anti-abortion bill that comes to his desk."

Obviously, we have the Religious Right involved in all of this. So, now, in addition to the problems created by Trump and his allies in Congress, we have religious extremists from the rural counties of Oklahoma attempting to re-write our Constitution.

Once again the Republican Party challenges American democracy. Oddly enough, the GOP is expected to gain control of Congress in the November mid-terms. Go figure. Does our country have a problem here?

How do Republicans on this forum handle all this and countless other issues seen here?

They don't. They simply ignore the many issues that plague the Republican Party.

One question: Where does the Constitution say that the Supreme Court makes "the law of the land"? Because I could swear it says that Congress makes the laws, not the Court. Unless you can either show me Constitutional support for the Court making law, or a law favoring abortion passed by Congress, your whole "Oklahoma violated federal law!" argument falls as flat as everything else you spew.

Where does it say that in the Bible?
