Again, just more red meat for the angry feebs. :)

Medicare, Medicaid, interest on the debt, DOD, Social Security.
Unless you make deep cuts in each of these....you're not even gonna move the needle.

All this other flotsam, is just erection inducing material for fanbois. :auiqs.jpg:
Part of addressing interest in the debt is paying down the debt. Part of that involves freeing up funds from current expenditures in order to have the money to address the debt.

So, you’re wrong in claiming it’s just flotsam. It may not be the entire solution, but it is obviously a part of it.

Wanna address the undeniable dangers of a runaway debt and endless deficits? Fine. That’s a good way to proceed. Maybe, therefore, we should compel out government to limit spending to those matters over which they have enumerated powers. Also, maybe we need to accept that to rein in government (especially legislators) we must consider the need to have a balanced budget amendment.

And if Medicare and Medicaid cost too much, maybe we need to address ways in which such services can be provided without all the attendant waste.

And social security — we already know — is not sustainable as currently configured. So, let’s stop considering it the “third rail” of politics. We need to overhaul that entire system or (one way or the other) we will lose it entirely.
