Odd food combos that you like

Not much different than Kraft Sandwich Spread.....I like that stuff on fish better than tarter sauce.

Applesauce and Crackers.

When I was 4 or 5 this older couple across the street used to watch me while mom was at work. About the only thing I remember of them was they gave me applesauce and saltines for a snack.

Of course my tastes are more refined now so it's applesauce and Club crackers. ;)

We grew up poor and at the end of the month our school sandwiches were this ^^^ in between two slices of bread. My stupid brothers would not be seen eating this and tossed the sandwiches out on the way to school, but I appreciated just having something to eat -- anything to eat!

I grew up in a military, one income family with four kids--I can relate. My mom was big on making beef tongue sandwiches. They weren't too bad if you could get past the idea of what they were. We had beef heart a lot as well--I really love a baked stuffed beef heart.

I love both of those foods, but never once have I eaten them together. Did you think of putting them together yourself or did you see someone else eat in such a way and decide to give it a whirl? :) :) :)

God bless you always!!!

LOL, When I was much younger, I would have a Heath bar and a Pepsi every afternoon. Tried them again some years ago and they just weren't quite the same.

Yup, things are never seem the same from the past when you make them again. Probably taste buds change overtime and maybe expectations set off high, lol

I always loved Dr. Pepper when I was a kid, but they did something to it in about 1969 that made it completely unpalatable.

A company called Virgil's made a drink called Dr. Better, which I found in 2015, that came very close to the old-time Dr. Pepper, but it's impossible to find now.

I think '69 was about the time that the US started using a lot of high fructose corn sweetener in place of cane sugar in soda pop. People can really tell the difference in Coke. LOL, I just recently picked up a can of Coke and noticed it said, "original taste" You can still find Coke in glass bottles that come from Mexico that are made with cane sugar. I wonder if you could find Dr. Pepper the same way. Yep, you can, but it is spendy--$4 a bottle in six packs at Amazon.
