baked beans on a hamburger. Thick Salsa on a hamburger.
guava butter on pork
squirrel gravy on grits:)
corn bread, milk mixed in a glass

I made a bitter beer face- but more power to ya.

Did you get the obligatory mushy peas?

Mushy peas reminds me of when my mom gave me and my brother split pea soup- we were about 6 and 3 and I thought oh **** this crap.

We were sitting at our kiddie table and I slowly and stealthily began sneaking spoonfuls from my bowl to his till his was full and I was almost rid of the dreadful concoction in my bowl.

I may have gotten away with it, had it not been for the trail of green pea goo from my bowl to his.

My mom did not think I was clever or cute.

Not much different than Kraft Sandwich Spread.....I like that stuff on fish better than tarter sauce.

We grew up poor and at the end of the month our school sandwiches were this ^^^ in between two slices of bread. My stupid brothers would not be seen eating this and tossed the sandwiches out on the way to school, but I appreciated just having something to eat -- anything to eat!

I didn't care too much for it myself as a kid, nor did I have a sibling to give it too. Of course the dog and the cats would run away, leaving me with the baby diarreah to eat all by myself. Damn traitors

But now I love a good bowl of ham & split pea soup on a cold winter day.

Alas, Seattle is history, as far as I'm concerned. But Ivar's is one of the things I miss about them.

When my niece comes to visit next month, I'll have her bring me a few jars of the tartar sauce.

.

Do they sell it on Amazon??

Dang, now I want me some Ivar's....but I'm not driving to Seattle for it.

My mom loves that sandwich spread stuff. :) :) :)

I was at my local KFC not too long ago and the lady in front of me asked that the brown mashed potato gravy be poured over top of her coleslaw.

God bless you and the lady and my mom always!!!
