If so, we should see virtually no "record lows" at all, but we see them all the time, virtually every day somewhere.

Blaming that on the jet stream is a pathetic dodge/cop out. The jet stream has been fluctuating like that for all of the past 150 years.

Ah well, a simple mind is incapable of thinking in anything but simple terms. A rapidly warming Arctic slows the jet stream and makes it more wobbly. So we have much colder weather reaching, on occasion, further south, and much warmer weather in the Arctic when that is happening.

Nashville has been unusually warm the past three weeks, including 2 record highs for the day last week by 1 and 2F. The three week period, cherry picked, is probably the warmest on record. We always get 70F days in winter, this time the duration was long for 50-70F hi temps. We are back to winter today, high around 40F, 5 degrees below normal. We were definitely colder than normal during Nov and the begining of Dec.

I do not believe Nashville had a single record high in 2025.
