Column: Don't blame Heritage for ObamaCare mandate

Obviously, there's more to the story than the Democrats will acknowledge. But the truth or falsity of the claim don't even really matter. If it truly was a "Republican idea", then why in holy fuck did Democrats legislate it????

Because Bush was too busy with a war , and Rep never seem to get anything done except lowering taxes at the top income.

You're just full of lies. nothing more. You don't know that to be the reason you just made that up. and before you all blamed Romney remember or you forgot already

Vote Results: House Passes Obamacare

The final vote tally for the Senate version of President Obama's health care reform legislation in the House was 219-212, with 34 Democrats joining all Republicans in opposition.

The key takeaway for opposition groups is that Speaker Pelosi needed to make a last-day deal with Rep. Bart Stupak and his small group of pro-life Democrats in order to achieve passage. That deal came in the form of an executive order from the White House, which we explained here. Democrats who opposed were:

Taken right from the Heritage Foundation. It been a long time coming.

What do you think this is breaking news or something?

Again we don't give a flying fuck what the heritage foundation thinks.

We voted to get rid of bozo care and the mandate

I don't lie. Read the links and weep. How dare you call me a liar. Its all in the links. Romney did mandate health care in his state.

First, it was not primarily intended to push people to obtain protection for their own good, but to protect others. Like auto damage liability insurance required in most states, our requirement focused on "catastrophic" costs — so hospitals and taxpayers would not have to foot the bill for the expensive illness or accident of someone who did not buy insurance.

Imagine, not for their own good. Republicans only care about what is good for the rich. Was he going to let the person rot in the street, no that is why it needed to be mandated they have it (but not for the employer to cost share) I have voted Dem once and that was for Gore, but I said I'd never vote Rep again after the last several years and knowing what I know now.

Do you know that the average monthly income in China is $952 in U.S. dollars? Not too good. But wait, in Cuba it’s only $25, which is a pretty big problem when a gallon of gas is almost $5.

These are socialist/communist countries. They promise people all kinds of free stuff, and they impose massive taxes to pay for it. It seems like it should be fairly basic to understand that this is not the sort of system that can lead to any kind of prosperity, but judging from the number of people willing to vote for Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, it is not obvious to enough people.

I get calls from people who have lived in countries that are or were socialist. They’re trying to warn us. Why don’t Americans understand what will happen if we go even further down the socialist road Obama has started us on? A lot of people think it’s interesting that the elderly Sanders has so many young supporters, but it makes perfect sense to me. He’s supported by people who don’t remember life before the Berlin Wall came down and the Iron Curtain was no more. They don’t understand what socialism really is. They hear Bernie and Hillary talk about giving them free college, and forgiving their student loans, and it sounds great to them.

What does it have to do with the PPACA?

Do you have health insurance?

poor dear penny looking for attention and atta boys.

Not hardly, I am trying to shed light on how the ACA , while needing some tweaking , is here to stay and has been a long time coming, so may as well sign on up. Also some Reps were talking about in in 1989 and the ACA closely resembles what one of them came up with.

Yep. ACA is just the kind of corporate welfare we get from Republicans. The fact that Democrats passed it proves they're no better.

That's a typical RW ploy; you'll see it all over this board.

"The PPACA is based on the Heritage Foundation's proposal from 1989 and -"

"No it is, No It Isn't, NO IT ISN'T!!!!!111!" :lalala:
