Republicans block bill to extend expiring health insurance subsidies

Lol .. right. You should hear what they have to say in the matter.

Anyway, I asked you a question and you're dodging. Wanna try again?
What makes health care special???...uh...well, it's necessary. Like food, water, shelter...you know..basics.
Righties like to claim we have the best heath system in the world and that people all over the world come here to take advantage of it.

Well...sure..because they can pony up the cash to go to the front of the line. They don't use their insurance. ^Shrug^...

Still missing the Republican plan that fixes everything. Can anyone post the link?

Obamacare was so bad when I was forced onto it that I found the “cash price” was often cheaper than what I owed after Obamacare “covered” my expense.

Think of it: had to pay $800 a month, and then pretend I was uninsured in order to save money.

Yes…Obamacare was that bad.

That’s your excuse: you people foisted a disaster of a plan on the American people, and then cry “so, fix it!”?

Where is the Republican Plan? Its been decades. Trump said he had one years ago. I guess he misplaced it with the new WhiteHouse Trump Hall plans.

The plan could be, "no plan". I'd be fine with that. Repeal ACA and move on. But they don't even have the balls to do that

You reckon "screw the poor and middle class" is a good look Vern when he is building this?

They should be affordable....just like health care. :)
Ok. Well, some people can't afford any. So, it sounds like you're talking about free?

Of course we're beating around the bush. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what you really want is the socialist ideal of "from each according to ability, to each according to need", and of course that always raises the question of "who decides?" Who decides what your ability is? Who decides what your needs are?

The usual socialist response is that it's decided democratically, we vote on it, and majority rules. Which means your personal well-being becomes political, rather than personal. And that's where you lose me.

The Abominable Care Act premiums are DOUBLE those of employee sponsored health plans
Lie.

Did you make up that lie yourself, or did Newsmax spoonfeed it to you?

"In 2024, individual market insurance premiums averaged $540 per member per month, slightly below the average $587 per member per month premium for fully-insured employer coverage."

You are correct. I should have said they would be double were it not for the massive Covid era subsidies and massive deductibles artificially lowering the costs.
