Obamacare & The 2016 Presidential Election

There is one important aspect to the upcoming election and Obamacare: a republican POTUS will sign a bill to repeal the law, and it is believed that Bernie Sanders will repeal Obamacare, therefore Obamacare is history. Ya' gotta have faith.

Trump says he's for single-payer. What's your reaction to that?
Trump knows that Bernie Sanders is his biggest threat and has decided to emulate him regarding Obamacare. Obamacare is going away, you can take that to the bank.

True...It will be replaced with single-payer.

No dreams here, it's just that I'm very insightful.

Well, I wasn't responding to you. Unless you are also under the delusion that ACA will be replaced with single payer. The entire point of ACA was to prevent single payer.

What does your insight tell you will happen the day after this hypothetical "going away"?

and if you could prove that the data from the states (easily found if not an idiot) are wrong, then you would do so.

When you were in high school did you bully other kids into doing your term papers for you? Otherwise, what is this "You do my research for me" thing all about?

If you have data from the states, post it here. Original sources, thankyouverymuch. The fact that you're stalling suggests you don't have any.

Keep stalling.

Look the pot calling the black.

Punctuation is your friend. Which of your burning questions have gone unanswered?

Why you are such a moron.

Assumes facts not in evidence and has nothing to do with the topic.

I am assuming nothing.

The facts are present all over the place.

So this thread is about me now? Fascinating. Almost as fascinating as the fact that your posts won't be deleted, but mine will.

Obamacare can't be "repealed." It is too large, too involved, and too many people have a vested interest in its continuation. But pieces of it can be superseded voided, and un-funded.

Single-payer is a pipe dream. The multi-million-employee health insurance industry would be rendered obsolete, and that ain't happening.

Sad but true. Congress sold us out. Lock, stock and barrel.

The entire issue of health insurance delivery still has to be addressed.

Obamacare is only a response to people not being able to get meaningful insurance.

While it wasn't a very good response, it was a response.

The issue still exists.

You asked a question and I answered.

If you don't like the potential answer...don't ask the question.

But I am sure you've got a "primary source" you'll remember to post.....next time.

My primary source for information about me is me. You'd be a secondary source or, in this case, hearsay in the absence of evidence. You'd hardly acknowledge that I know more about you than you know about yourself, so your assumption that it works in the opposite direction is...unusual.

Now, if you'd like to get back on topic, let me know.

What ?

You want to rant...and then go back on topic ?

How typical.

What's typical is that you ask for a primary source and then dismiss it as a rant. So you're done with the topic? Our n00b will be disappoint.

There is no information in your post. It is merely a statement of position and a claim to credibility. It is an argument.

When you can understand that....you'll be making progress.

While we hope for a miracle, you can return to topic anytime you'd like.

The US will finally progress to a single payer system, much like the rest of the progressive thinking countries around the globe. The day may come for some of you to realize "capitalism" doesn't cut it, but I rather doubt it(but I hope so). By its very definition, "capitalism" means taking advantage of something, whatever it may be. Sadly, and long ago, the "it" became the average American citizen.

Corporatism is where we're headed. Programs like ACA lay that out clearly. And, as proponents of ACA have been eager to emphasize, once federal programs like this are in place it's virtually impossible to remove them. The unfortunate fact is that every key provision of ACA was crafted, by the insurance industry lobbyists, to keep insurance companies in the middle of every single health care transaction.

Yes, and to make government even more dependent upon their advice.

It would be interesting to see what "negotiations" are going as these big guys are saying they will pull out of the exchanges.

I'd mostly agree, except that there is no such thing as pure capitalism. What we have in the U.S. is a sometimes uneasy mix of capitalism and socialism, and a huge swath of the population that gets hung up on the terminology - i.e., they think each word has only ONE meaning, and the first is GOOD while the other is BAD. (They also tend to use u.c. for emphasis, frequently.)

Just skim the posts in this forum for the term "socialism" and see how far afield they roam.

A transition to single-payer would have been realms better than the patchwork Congress left us with. It's what the sensible among us wanted from the get-go and it will happen eventually.

Buy earplugs in the meantime or the yowling from the literalists may result in tinnitus. ;)
