Chomsky on IQ and Inequality - New Learning Online

"Noam Chomsky is a linguist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a leading public intellectual, intervening on many of the most controversial issues of the time.

"He is credited as being the most cited living intellectual. Not only has Chomsky made a substantial contribution to theoretical linguistics; he has also engaged critically with other traditions and intellectual trends.

"One such critical engagement was with Richard Herrnstein in 1972. With Charles Murray, Herrnstein was later to publish a widely read and controversial book,
The Bell Curve."

Noam Chomsky: The emerging New World Order, its roots, our legacy
"Intellectuals are in a position to expose the lies of governments, to analyze actions according to their causes and motives and often hidden intentions.

"In the Western world, at least, they have the power that comes from political liberty, from access to information and freedom of expression.

For a privileged minority, Western democracy provides the leisure, the facilities, and the training to seek the truth lying hidden behind the veil of distortion and misrepresentation, ideology and class interest, through which the events of current history are presented to us."

Chomsky isn’t Muslim so he is already smarter than you.

The Responsibility of Intellectuals

"IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY of intellectuals to speak the truth and to expose lies. This, at least, may seem enough of a truism to pass over without comment. Not so, however.

"For the modern intellectual, it is not at all obvious.

"Thus we have Martin Heidegger writing, in a pro-Hitler declaration of 1933, that 'truth is the revelation of that which makes a people certain, clear, and strong in its action and knowledge'; it is only this kind of 'truth' that one has a responsibility to speak.

"Americans tend to be more forthright.

"When Arthur Schlesinger was asked by The New York Times in November, 1965, to explain the contradiction between his published account of the Bay of Pigs incident and the story he had given the press at the time of the attack, he simply remarked that he had lied; and a few days later, he went on to compliment the Times for also having suppressed information on the planned invasion, in 'the national interest,' as this term was defined by the group of arrogant and deluded men of whom Schlesinger gives such a flattering portrait in his recent account of the Kennedy Administration."

Don’t read copy and pasted, Islamist. Try harder.

That Chomsky feller is in deep shit now. The left will probably call him a heretic and burn him at the stake.
That's how the idiot right would respond to a similar comment coming from one of their "intellectuals," proving once again the left has a much better understanding of political reality:

Noam Chomsky Believes Trump Is “the Worst Criminal in Human History”

"Chomsky has always been extremely pragmatic in his political analysis, diverging from some other leftists in his belief in the necessity of voting for mainstream Democrats against Republicans.

"But in addition to supporting Joe Biden this year, he told me that Donald Trump is 'the worst criminal in human history' and expressed serious concerns about the future of American democracy (although he conceded that it 'was never much to write home about')."

There are no "intellectual" conservatives, George. We all work for a living.

What would inspire one of the most radical US leftists and arguably the leading intellectual light of his age to give the devil his due and warn against conflating Trump's antics with his accomplishments?

I think he got lucky. He tapped into the right thing at the right time.

Against Obama he'd have got kicked. He even lost to Biden.

Chomsky is babbling shit. His field is Linguistics and he has conned people into thinking he knows politics. He actually gave a speech claiming that the American dream is dead. Now that we have more millionairres than ever before!!!! In a debate with Alan Dershowitz, Chomsky proved himself as totally anti Israel. He actually parroted the lies of the Palestinian terrorists.

What If Trump Has Been a Russian Asset Since 1987?
What does Trump, Bush, Putin, or anyone else have to do with you being a goose-stepping communist shit and America NEVER being a socialist country....EVER????

It already is, has been for the last 60 years, since Reagan.
Most of it, all................................CORPORATE.

I suspect Chomsky didn't mean it as a glowing compliment.

Obviously.

Truly Socialist and communist countries must disarm their citizens or their governments will be overthrown.

Americans will never be disarmed.

Were you surprised when Trump got over 70 million votes last November? I suspect you're correct about Trump v Obama, but I can't help remembering how Democrats like Hillary and Biden and Obama told their base to vote Republican if they didn't support NAFTA. I think Trump's appeal has a fake populist probably put him in the White House.

I wasn't surprised at all.

Trump tapped into something a little crazy, because he knows quite a few people like the crazy. He also got the Republican candidacy and that brings a lot of votes with it too.

When you have a country that has a lot of people who grew up believing things, mostly religion, it's not hard for them to believe other things.
