There is really no reason to worry about the Americans who do not have health insurance.

A recent study showed that the vast majority of Americans who do not have health insurance did not attend the town halls on health care. They were too busy working. They won't yell at politicians.

Unfortunately they do not vote at the same rates as those with health insurance. The politicians are saying screw them, if they do not vote they cannot vote me out of office.

They do not have funds to make contributions to politicians. Another reason to for politicians to say screw them.
Now the health insurance companies give big bucks. No politician is going to say screw the health insurance companies..

Many of those yelling against a public option at the town hall meetings were on Medicare. Go figure.

Medicaid is a state thing, you are thinking of Medicare which is going bankrupt because the government keeps raiding it (you know, the people they want to give control of all healthcare). Medicaid is a state insurance which all uninsured people can qualify for unless they can pay for it without help. Though it limits you to what doctors you can see and you can't be lazy (there's paperwork to fill out), anyone who can't afford healthcare and has no insurance qualifies for it.

Healthcare is an obligation to ones self, and to their family. It is most certainly NOT a right, especially in the context of making others PAY for it against their will, or better judgement just so some dumbass Politician is more concerened about his/her re-election and to something that the said politician is NOT subject to.

I'll agree with the OP as far as, where are the proposals?

Citizens should take care of their own needs, whether it be an HSA, private insurance, or insurance the employer offers. Not everyone will have health insurance. Some people will go without routine medical care, because they can't afford it.

This isn't a federal issue so I am not interested in coming up with some kind of one size fits all fed plan like the President.

If the respective states want to put forth a program of some kind, they can amend their constitutions and pay for the care themselves.

I want the federal government out of my life and out of my wallet as much as possible.

Life is not fair. Government cannot grow big enough to make life fair and affordable for everyone. In my opinion, it shouldn't even try.
