No food stamps for any family of a striking worker

Yup. You better not strike and try to get a better deal, American worker. The GOP is making sure your family will have to struggle as much as possible if you dare.

If the unions care so much about their dues payers then they can feed the people who refuse to work.

Why should the 88% of workers who aren't in a union foot the grocery bill for the 12% who choose to go on strike?
Yeah.....DAMN those 12%ers (who actually have the balls to Question Authority.....and, expose the 88% for the gutless-weenies/lemmings they are)!!!!

I'm guessing yours is your wife, cock-stain.

Yet another con who can't answer the question. Go ahead and deflect. It's what ass-hats like you do best.

You asked about taking responsibility for your cousins DUI, my response that your cousin is not in your family unit doesn't address that? Hello, anyone home?

Do you take every analogy you hear and criticize it for accuracy, or just analogies that make a point you don't like?

Just for you, scrotum-lips:

I guess you won't mind getting your license suspended the next time your wife gets a DUI.

Is that better, professor? Would you like to grade me for grammar as well?

I like how you said I was married to my cousin, then you said you don't know the difference between your cousin and your wife. I'm happy to see you finally googled "family unit" though since you didn't know what it meant. You learned something today.

As for your question, see what happens to your insurance rates when your wife gets the DUI. In my case on the other hand my cousin getting a DUI wouldn't affect them. I know that still confuses you with the inbreeding in your family.

That 12% didn't pay into the system?

There is not one justifiable reason that they should. Not one. Unions need to plan ahead. Set aside monies for food and paychecks should they decide to punish their employer by striking.

USPS pension, health, education, benefits & slack work loads beats the pants off of the lesser benefits & harder work the UPS employees endure. I personally know 5 USPS employees ridding the disability gravy train all the way into retirement getting good pay all the way & looking foreword to hefty pension & health benies in retirement. I know many ex-UPS employees who could not hack the workload & get zero benefits.

yea right....you know 5.....i have been working there 31 years and have NEVER known 5 people doing what your saying......and outside of one guy the ones who are disabled have got the surgery scares and the limps when they walk to back up their disability.....

Federal workers do not have collective bargaining, yet their unions have power. Why don't you explain that, if you can.

if your in a Union you have Collective Bargaining Quantum......i belong to one,im a Federal Worker and in Nov.....that Bargaining will begin....

humm interesting, can you tell what you bargain on and the strictures in place?

Oh and are you a mailman?

yes the Union lets us know what is going on.....and you cant say "Mailman" anymore.....its not PC.....now its "Letter Carrier".....kind of *** sounding i know.....hey the PC Police are out there....

The frikken bleeding hearts in this country is going to BLEED US TO DEATH.

Now the UNIONS are whining because they call a strike against a company that not only impacts them, but us in some way and they want to go COLLECT welfare OFF US TAXPAYERS.

how bout that one folks. what a racket eh?

So Wal Mart pays really well? I don't think so.

Yes for educated people. Yes I have what you might call a real job. I like to teach, but I also know that some of my students are made for that. Parents aren't happy that I say their son or daughter isn't really fit for college. But I tell them that if they specialize in a certain skilled labor, they will be more happy.

Some kids like to have things in their hands and do something. Some like myself, like to broaden my horizons, read and learn. I like to do that. We need labor in this country, but you keep lowering the initial wage like the cartels are doing. Its going to reduce our purchasing power, reducing the ability to take care of their families.

Its very bad news for America when we don't pay our workers decent, livable wages.

I could turn this entire thread on its head and say that if you support illegal immigration, you cant possibly believe what you posted.
If we keeps lowering the standards for "cheap" labor, we will never be able offer really good wages.

BUT... I wont do that tonight. Im too tired.

You dont sound like a bad guy JFK. Sorry I was nasty earlier.

Been on of those days.

Its been one of those weeks. My girlfriend dislocated her kneecap this week and I am expecting a huge bill.

But I understand that cheap labor makes it possible to have high paying jobs. But at some point, the rich are going to have to give a little back. We can't keep having rising food prices, gas prices and wages stagnant and expect people to be civil. Yeah I can be upset that their will be no new parks, but when I can't afford to feed my child, now you are getting personal.

The food bubble is coming. I think it will be worse than the housing crisis because alot of our economy is based in agriculture and if we don't start to cut prices and end speculating, its going to begin to affect us.

Every idea the left has is, to TAKE MONEY from others. the rich rich rich rich rich should give give give.

You all TAKE enough of my money, go GET YOUR OWN. go get a second job. a lot of US do.

Once again Republicans do everything they can to stack the deck against workers ability to negotiate

Hey RW....let me ask you this....

You are a member of a union. You get paid 20 an hour to screw on a bolt on an assembly line.

So does Joe...the man right next to you.

You both get the same salary (per union contract).
You both get 6 sick days a year.
You both get paid if you are unable to attend work due to inclimate weather.

You are both sick 2 days one year and you both take off those days. As the year approaches the end, Joe tells you "I still have 4 sick days so I am calling in sick next week"
You dont call in sick....as you have the right asttitude....they are for being sick...not for vacation.

During the year, it snowed 3 times....never more than a couple of inches and you had no issue getting to work. Joe, by contract, was allowed to say the snow prevented him from getting to work....even though you know he has a 4 wheel drive SUV.

So all in all, Joe took off 7 more days than you....and made the same amount of money as you.

Year ends...and time for raises. Being part of the union, Joe gets the same exact raise you got.

WHat are you going to do next year?

Sure...you will say "I will do nothing different"....just so you can win the argument.

But you are full of shit if you do.

The general result is most if not all will trend to the lowest acceptable work ethic.

Thus why unions are an issue.

It is an interesting fable and reflects the fact that not every worker has the same work ethic. Management likes to group non-union workers also. In negotiations they will tell you you are asking for more than anyone else gets. Try bringing up your sick leave usage when you ask for a raise

Republicans have a clear agenda. In a time when families are struggling to get by, republicans are trying to ensure that they don't have the tools to negotiate higher salaries.

Those tools are the right to collectively bargain and the right to strike

You are living a dream.

As it pertains to non union workers, the foillowing criteria are applied to "evaluations" that result in raises and promotions:

1) Work ethic
2) Quality of work
3) dedication to responsibility
4) attrendance (grouped with work ethic)
5) reliability

Most upper level positions in companies are filled with those that work their way up the ladder. You seem to believe that tenure is the sole criteria for promotion. By no means should it be; and by mo means is it in a non union environment. Many people are good at what they do, but do not have the work ethic or sense of responsibility to go to the next level. Whre do you think those :managers" came from? More often than not, from the lower ranks. Who do you th8ink got those promotions? The ones that do JUST ENOUGH to kep their jobs?

You are only fooling yourself if you think so.

Bottom line...

nowadays, unions do nothing more than protect the rights of workers with a low level of work ethic...and at the cost of career advancement of those with a great work ethic.

In a non union environment, a great work ethic protects the worker
.

If food stamps are legal to dispense then how is it legal to take them from someone because they participate in a union action?

It's not legal to take food stamps because you choose not to work. You just can't quit your job and go to the welfare office and demand food stamps. It doesn't work that way.

Bleed us to death? How about the fact that anytime you ask for a simple raise, companies throw a shit fit over an extra quarter an hour?

Striking is the only way workers can get what they need to survive. Yeah I think the American worker has been spoiled and don't grasp the concept that we control how much power workers have. You vote in Republicans, they will do everything they can to help businesses and screw the American worker.

We need good paying jobs in this country, we can't survive like this much longer.

Oh right, so calling a STRIKE against a company to try and break their backs is going to GIVE us good paying jobs.
and they suck off your monies in dues to use AGAISNT us people who they don't care if a strike affects us, and you all have NO PROBLEM being a slave to them.

Asking for a 25 cents raise when you dont deserve it results in no raise.

Asking for a 25 cents raise when you deserve it will be result in a 25 cents raise.

And the truth?

Go the extra yard. Create a differential. Prove your value...and you wont have to ask for the raise. You will get it anyway.

True stuff.

You think business owners are idiots. We are not. We will ALWAYS do what we need to to retain quality employees.
