No food stamps for any family of a striking worker

Most of us negotiate our positions just fine on our own without having a Union thug speaking for us.

No you don't

It is unions or the threat of forming a union that gives workers the ability to negotiate. It is the ability to strike as a group that enables workers to level the playing field

How level is the playing field now?
Worker salaries have been stagnant for 20 years while management salaries and profits have escalated

Keep beliving that. That's a really arrogant statement that you make.

No not arrogant.

Accurate was the word you were searching for, lad.

So Wal Mart pays really well? I don't think so.
For the skills required for the job, yes.
Compared to other retail stores, once you figure in benefits, yes.

That's like saying, "So McDonalds pays really well?"

If WalMart and McDs is the only jobs you're capable of doing you have deeper issues to worry about than collective bargaining rights for workers.....

Ehhhhhhh.. wrong answer.. please see Don Pardo for some lovely parting gifts...

There are a plethora of workers, including myself, that have no union presence ANYWHERE near the jobs we work... there is no threat of any corrupt union that drives my compensation nor is there any union giving me any power to negotiate... that power, unlike in the cases of sheep like yourself, is entirely MINE

Blue collar or white collar?

Been both... recently went back to being an engineer after being in middle management for 10 years.... you see, choice.... that is the power, not unions

No sir. Not accurate. Naive is the correct word.

Unions give the workers the ability to get raises when they dont deserve them. It gives the workers the incentive to do just enough to keep their jobs. Sadly it takes away the incentive to go above and beyond....afterall.....give 80% or 120%, you will get the same raise.

Why is it that in a non union environment, the better workers get raises and promotions?

Yep...naive is the correct word....

Naive...and arrogant.

RW and the left in general still believe in the politically correct theory that all workers have a great work etrhic and will never try to capitalize on a system....and only want to be the best at what they do.

Sadly, just as the some of the wealhy try to get things they dont deserve, so do some of the not wealthy.

And as I have said...unions do nothing but protect the rights of those with a poor work ethic.

Without a union, a great work ethic will prove to be all the protection a worker needs.

In a Walmart....who do you think becomes a supervisor...then a manager....and then a district manager?

The ones who, while at the cash register, do more than just ring up sales and complain about their jobs. The ones who come in when it snows out...the ones who dont seem to use ALL of their sick days every year (becuase they earned them).....the ones who DONT take off Easter Sunday AND Yom Kippur claiming religious reasons (Becuase it is their legal right)....the ones who dont have 3 grandmothers die each year (becuase they earned their bereavement days).....the ones who DONT need all day to vote (becuase it is their right)......

Thats who.

:clap2:

They are not naive...they are dishonest and arrogant.

Once again, basic logic, truth, and not falling into the policially correct theories scares off the left.

It is getting so freaking old already.

Why should I support someone who is voluntarily unemployed?

What an asshole.

Once again Republicans do everything they can to stack the deck against workers ability to negotiate

Hey RW....let me ask you this....

You are a member of a union. You get paid 20 an hour to screw on a bolt on an assembly line.

So does Joe...the man right next to you.

You both get the same salary (per union contract).
You both get 6 sick days a year.
You both get paid if you are unable to attend work due to inclimate weather.

You are both sick 2 days one year and you both take off those days. As the year approaches the end, Joe tells you "I still have 4 sick days so I am calling in sick next week"
You dont call in sick....as you have the right asttitude....they are for being sick...not for vacation.

During the year, it snowed 3 times....never more than a couple of inches and you had no issue getting to work. Joe, by contract, was allowed to say the snow prevented him from getting to work....even though you know he has a 4 wheel drive SUV.

So all in all, Joe took off 7 more days than you....and made the same amount of money as you.

Year ends...and time for raises. Being part of the union, Joe gets the same exact raise you got.

WHat are you going to do next year?

Sure...you will say "I will do nothing different"....just so you can win the argument.

But you are full of shit if you do.

The general result is most if not all will trend to the lowest acceptable work ethic.

Thus why unions are an issue.

That's why, in the 1950s, when union membership was much higher than today, America fell apart, our manufacturing disappeared, and we ceased to be a superpower by the 60s...

ThinkProgress » Buried Provision In House GOP Bill Would Cut Off Food Stamps To Entire Families If One Member Strikes

Want to talk about class warfare?

The republicans in congress have written into a bill a provision that anyone related to a striking worker will have their food stamps taken away.

So a single Mom can have her food stamps taken away for trying to strike for enough pay to get off of food stamps.

The right is full on against ANY workers rights.

Why do they hate the vast majority of Americans?

If you choose not to work, why should I pay for you? Honestly TM, do you think anyone should have to be responsible for anything?
Aw, c'mon, now.....this isn't gonna affect any CEO's bonu$-buck$.

You've (quite) obviously not worked hard-enough, yet, to reach that pay-grade.

Ya' gotta quit trying to blame others, for your OWN short-comings/laziness.

:eusa_boohoo:

So someone who refuses to work should be getting foodstamps? Why?

Heck, why do the Feds provide foodstamps anyway?
DUH!!!!!

How can dead-people be expected to cover price$-at-the-pump??!!!

I love it, tough love.

Wouldn't it be tough love if a worker strikes because the company etc tries to screw them? I guess it isnt tough love then, and we should feel bad for the company trying to screw the worker, but god forbid we stand up for the worker.

YOu ever wonder why the middle class has been on the decline since you guys started going after unions?
Hey....you know how it goes. You've got that several-hundred-thousand Dead-O-Heads, Freepers, Truthers, Oathers, Birthers, etc., who are all sitting in board-rooms, now.....after (just) one o' those magical-calls to Porky Limbaugh....and, they're gettin' all greedy, as a result o' pullin'-down multi-million$ per year, now.

How conveniently they've forgotten their "roots". :eusa_snooty:

Why should I support someone who is voluntarily unemployed?

What an asshole.

They are not unemployed they are taking part in perfectly legal activities.

This is the government punishing poor people for taking part in legal activities.

If we start this then we should also refuse anyone who joins the tea party any government assitance.

If you are non partisan you would have to agree with that idea too.
