Decrying bail reform is a knee jerk reaction, usually by Republicans in response to crime. Now apparently some Democrats are being sucked in as the resuly of accusatios of being soft on crime.

But the fact is that bail reforem is working in New Jersey and we have not seen that same problems as they have had in New York. No direct cause and effect between mail reform and a rise in any category of crime has ben established

There are few cases where those released without bail are charged with serious crimes, the court system says.
