This has nothing to do with helping kids learn. Every time there is a school shooting, the internet is flooded with people asking where are the phone-cam-videos of the shooting. The press never has an answer except the alex jones answer and this will stop the issue even being raised.

jan 9 2025 Republican New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte announced Thursday that she plans to ban cell phones from schools.

She stated her intention in her inaugural address alongside a number of other issues, according to a transcript.

“Screens are negatively impacting our learning environments, drawing students’ attention away from their classes, and becoming a barrier for teachers to do their jobs. No more,” Ayotte said. She posted her statement on X.

I certainly believe anything that interferes with the child paying attention in class should be banned, and the CP is one such item.

This is another case for vouchers, because private schools can ban them, while public education monopoly will just use the issue to enrich attorneys...

In my opinion, cell phones are actually good to have at school granted they are used for the right reasons of course. Students can record classes with permission from the teachers if they want to hear whatever is said again later on in the day. The recordings can also be sent to kids who miss school because they are sick.

God bless you always!!!

RWNJ state legislature wants to ban them here in KS.

You can do that with a handheld recorder, you don't need a phone. Back when I was in college, students would come into class, put a recorder on their desk, and leave.

How did we cope before mobile/cell phones? Why does mankind now all of a sudden struggle to survive without them?

The lefty-loony teachers don't like it when the kids record them instructing the kids to hide things from their parents such as teaching them about homosexuality, lesbianism, trans, Marxism and other aberrant ideas, even though the class curriculum has nothing to do with those topics.
For parents in New Hampshire, if there is any way possible, pull them out of the indoctrination centers called public schools and either home-school or send them to some other type of school.

I guess just taking notes is too low-tech now? Always worked for me. Cellphones are just a big distraction that diverts kids from paying attention and thinking for themselves.

If they do ban the kids from having cellphones in class, then there must be a camera in each class that has sound, for parents to monitor to ensure no unapproved interaction between the teachers and students.

Really? When I was in school, teachers were considered the surrogate authority of the kids in lieu of the parents during the day so there was no fear of "unapproved" interactions. What the teacher said, went. If the teacher said jump and you didn't jump, you were in trouble, then when you got home and the old man found out, you were really in trouble. And the kids behaved. I don't recall seeing a single unapproved interaction in my entire time from K thru grade 12.

I finally got a cell in 2023. My first one. Hardly ever use it. I hate it but so many things you have to give a cell phone number to obtain so the company can sell the number.

I went to a catholic elementary school and if the nuns (we called them huns) got mad , they'd make the whole class do the duck walk around the room several times. It was kinda funny at the time, but today they'd call it child abuse.

My mother reached early 80's and died coming up 2 years ago. To do some debit card transactions, she needed a phone. Basically the bank said she needs a phone or tough. So we used mine and the bank never knew.

Kids don't need phones, let alone phones at school.

^^^ I disagree. With school violence being as bad as it has become over the last twenty plus years, I can't blame the kids who bring phones with them. Sadly, people can't even go to concerts, movies, or church anymore without being someone else's target.

God bless you always!!!

I grew up with a bunch of Catholic kids. They used to tell me that if they got in trouble at school that the nuns would either make them kneel on their knuckles or they would beat their hands with wooden rulers.

Good thing I wasn't a Catholic I suppose because I probably would have refused and kicked the nuns in the shins and taken the rulers off of them.

Kids need their phones when they live in a primitive frontier environment. Its essential.

Growing up I didn't have a cell phone in school and I turned out just fine.
No need for cell phones
