They are working in an environment that is completey upended, no idea if they’ll have job the next day, an employer who is capricious, follows no rules, despises them, attacks them, makes false accusations and exposes them to “mob justice”. Who would stay? Well, if you are close to retirement, and many of those who took the buyout are, then it’s an easy decision. If you work in a field that is highly marketable, you might just say fuck this and leave. If you are a scientist, and you are going to be forced to promote political ideology in lieu science, then that might be enough reason as well. A lot though, were close to retirement and they could afford to take the risk of accepting a very risky offer that might not pay.

Do you think TrumpMusk will honor the offer and if they can’t because it is illegal and Musk, who knows nothing about how the government works or what is legal or not nor cares didn’t look into it first…what then?
