USPS begins cash conservation plan Temporarily suspends payments to Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS)

For millions of Americans, particularly in low-density and rural communities, the mail remains essential infrastructure. It delivers prescription medications, ballots, and online purchases, and it supports local small-business activity
Except for absentee ballots, this is not a function of the USPS. Those could all be handled by commercial companies, and you should have to sign for them.

The VA uses the USPS for my medicines that does not require refrigeration/cooling. They use FEDEX for overnight because USPS simply can't do it!

So do I. Voters should demand all government employees must allocate portion of their earnings, based on earnings, to subsidize healthcare for the people. This country is backward. Other developed countries, government works for the people.
When I worked for the federal government or states, my personal health insurance (basic) was covered but I paid for any increased coverage as well as any coverage for my dependents. Most of the time, my coverage as a government employee was inferior to what my wife had, so she covered the kids on her insurance.

I have no idea what you are proposing, but I can tell you the way it was.

That’s the difference. You and I pay out of our pocket and we also pay healthcare coverage for government workers.
So? You paid my salary in the Navy and when I worked for the federal government. States and localities paid for my salary and all sorts of benefits when I worked for them. When I worked as a government contractor, the federal government paid not a damned dime, and when my wife retired and was on Medicare, I paid nearly $800 a month before I was eligible for VA care.

Meaning taxpayers are subsidizing them

And the odds are government employees…

A. Will be subsidizing you health care when you turn 65.

And/or

B. Subsidized health insurance for you parents (s).
