More stupid U.S. escalation with China over Taiwan

The U.S. couldn’t even stop Trump’s lunatic shaman with antlers from invading the Capitol!

You are talking through your own hat here, Admiral. Why do YOU think the military doesn’t want Pelosi to go???

I’ve provided one Rand Corporarion study. There are many others. Of course I’m sure you think that everything would change if only YOU were “admiral” of the 7th fleet! Right … “Admiral”?

The military was not there, thank you!

The military doesn't want Pelosi to go because that is an unnecessary provocation.

The RAND Corporation is as useless as tits on a boar hog.

I was a naval officer. How about you, dickhead?

There will be no immediate invasion! That is NOT the issue here! That is a stupid red herring.

However, there MAY very well and very soon be a lesser kinetic confrontation with China if the U.S. keeps “stupidly escalating” in the immediate vicinity of China and its borders. THAT could quickly explode into a much larger confrontation.

How is the US escalating anything?

Your imagination is running away with you.

“The military was not there, thank you!” — “Admiral” Rockwell Tory
Yes, the U.S. Army and Navy is not there! But 1.4 billion Chinese are right nearby, with their own jets, missiles and ships. Hundreds of jets and missiles can swarm over Taiwan in 20 minutes. The U.S. military can’t — and doesn’t now want to have the responsibility to — protect a single unarmed plane carrying a dumb politician to Taiwan. They are quite reasonably afraid this MAY blow up and they and the U.S. may be humiliated by a Chinese show of force.

If we need to worry about China attacking a single unarmed plane carrying a dumb politician to Taiwan, maybe we should do something about China, now?

They certainly would not “attack” — they would likely just “escort,” or maybe “escort away” Pelosi’s plane.

Also… who are “we,” kemosabe?

Maybe you should whine less and think more deeply about what we as a nation really can and cannot do, should and should not do … now.

Maybe we should keep kissing China's ass and keep pretending that Taiwan isn't an independent, sovereign nation? That seems to have made China more friendly, eh?

Maybe they will "escort" her like they have done to numerous of our surveillance aircraft that were in international airspace over the ocean.

Excuse, please, an injection from another delusion, but what enemy of the U.S. would openly attack a plane with Ms Pelosi aboard?

Exactly. An incident like that air collision is possible at almost any time, given U.S. close reconnaissance of Chinese coastal waters. It can happen either in international waters, or over waters or islands claimed by China.

To prevent such incidents requires an effort to improve U.S.-China relations. That cannot happen if the U.S. continues — after decades of accepting that Taiwan is NOT a sovereign independent nation but rather a part of “One China” — to drift ever closer to outright repudiating the One China policy, to recognizing Taiwan as formally independent.

Truly independent countries can freely make military alliances with other countries. A truly sovereign Taiwan would be recognized as such under international law, could join the U.N., and could even allow the U.S. to build bases and station major American forces right off China’s coast — something no Chinese leader would or could tolerate while the U.S. and China are in a “Cold War” … and moving to a possible hot one.

But Taiwan is a sovereign independent nation.
Even if that fact makes China sad.

Tell that to the rest of the world, which has also long recognized the One China policy, and does not recognize Taiwan as an independent nation. Tell that to the Chinese nation, that considers Taiwan’s de facto independence the result of Western military interference in its Civil War. Believe me, they don’t give a damn about what you think “is” or is not.

Such a great situation. Pelosi goes out of bounds and stirs up shit, then Biden says the equivalent of "My mom said she shouldn't do that."

A fucking mess.

And yet, Taiwan is an independent nation. Clearly.

Sounds like China should adjust their "considerations".

Believe me, they don’t give a damn about what you think “is” or is not.

And we should stop catering to their feelings. Before they do something stupid.

First, that doesn't happen.

Second, you need to study your history of US-Taiwan relations.

Whenever someone makes repeated posts pointing to "Trumpsters" or any variation of "Trump" as a definition of a partisan group, I stop reading because it's self evident that anyone who can't make their point without referring to Trump is obsessed with ultra partisan ideology.

They have nothing worth reading or responding to in that case.

Sounds like China doesn't recognize the Right of Self Determination, and is willing to fight a war over it.

The way we have traded with them, growing their military potential, was really stupid.

We should stop that immediately.

It’s like a red flag they’re waving that it’s yet another mentally deranged Lefist incapable of rational, objective thought.
