China’s undersea cable threat raises $10T fears as Trump-Xi talks loom

Well, you have to convince me that there's a real threat.

Leaving aside the continued slander of Chamberlain (who actually made the right call at Munich, a war over Czechoslovakia would have been a terrible idea) it's absurd to compare China to Nazi Germany.

First, China is boxed in by two nuclear powers - India and Iran. They aren't going to blitzkreig anyone.

Secondly, China makes too much money from free trade, they have no reason to antagonize the rest of the world.
Corerect about China as theur economy depends on exports and any attack will cut them off and collapse theur economy. Not true about Chamberlain a total idiot

And?

The ironic thing is that we want a fight with China, but China is more chill about the whole thing. They're just doing their thing, and not thinking about us as much as we think about them
No China is thinking about us.
But China plays the long game.
Remember Hong Kong.?

So Chamberlain made the right call over Czechoslovakia, but the wrong call over Poland?

Trump needs to be a boss when he visits China. No nice talk or capitulation. China is desperate to move past Trump and MAGA. Trump needs to advise him that not only will the U.S crush Iran and impact Chinas access to oil to ensure Iran does not obtain a nuke, but also regime change will remain on the table as long as they remain defiant.

He must tell President Xi that even after his term Trump will influence elections and promote America First, take back the theft and influence China has weaponized.

Works on the assumption that like most of the world, he doesn't see Trump as a buffoon.

Trump has no cards to play, that's the problem.
He can't launch a ground invasion
He's pretty much out of missiles.
Most of the world is not going along with his war on Iran.

I have said it often, either China wins or America wins, it is a binary choice. I do not make the geopolitical rules, I simply express them clearly.

Snidley, I have to ask.. did you have a Happy Ending that went badly?

Why is it a binary choice? Let's say China achieves all its goals. They retake Taiwan, intimidate the third-world countries in the South China Sea, and their economy eclipses ours.

How does any of that make your life worse? Or my life?

If Russia were smart, it would realize the opportunity, end the war in Ukraine and find common ground to avoid being a vassal state of China. Putin seems blinded by old world thinking rather than taking the opportunity a new generation who do not share a hatred for Russia.

Or he just realizes that we stand in the way of his goals and China does not.

Trust will not be easy, but over time it could be gained along some venues of shared interest, especially of Russia were wise enough to promote their predominantly Christian nation which their governments have too often suppressed.

Works on the assumption that they don't see us as decadent and immoral already. Which they do.

China has a major deficiency in their system and their disrespect of Judeo-Christian values. Trump must not bend to the will of a nation that wishes to supplant U.S-lead world order.

If the US-led world order is in peril, it's because Trump has methodically alienated every ally we have.

Take his attitude towards your country. He says you should be our 51st state, he tears up treaties he negotiated in good faith, etc.

So Chamberlain made the right call over Czechoslovakia, but the wrong call over Poland?

To a degree, yes.

Chamberlain essentially wrote the Polish Colonel's Regime a blank check that he wasn't able to cash. As a result, Hitler cut a deal with Stalin and bye-bye Poland.

Now, there are the more cynical historians who think that the west never had any intent of coming to Poland's aid, and the goal was always to let Hitler and Stalin fight. We'll be nice and safe behind the Maginot Line.

I think it was more along the line of the spanking he was taking in public opinion after Munich (and Hitler breaking the promises he did make). He also didn't do enough to court Mussolini as a potential ally.

Hey, buddy, the 1950s called. They want their Bircher talking points back.

For you to even say that proves you are a hard core Communist boot licker.
That's not a counter argument. You aren't very good at this, are you?
The government of both those nations has overseen mass genocide. The absurdity is to deny it.

Well, you clearly don't understand what "Genocide" is. Rounding people up and throwing them in the ovens is genocide. A bunch of people starving because they screwed up some agricultural reforms is not.

spoken like a true Communist. Iran will never attack or defend against China. India has recently shown a propensity to align with China rather than the USA. You are so full of shit your eyes are brown.

That's the point. While we act beligerently, China is out there making friends.

"One Belt, One Road". China wants total global domination and every non-Communist knows this.

The BRI is brilliant! What better way to build up good will and get your products to market than to build roads and improve ports.

So they are smart, and we are dumb.

Nothing to be proud of.

No China is thinking about us.
But China plays the long game.
Remember Hong Kong.?

Quite right.

China would have been well within her rights to march the PLA into Hong Kong and renounce the treaty the UK made with the Qing Dynasty.

They didn't. They waited for the lease to run out and let Hong Kong do its own thing up until 2050

Perhaps some ramping up of fears, or, potentially some foreshadowing of potential threats based on reliable intelligence sources.

Either way with the Chinese helping Iran and Russia harm Americas allies and keeping the U.S busy is not an accident.

The sooner American corporations realize that patriotism is more important than army the nation that want you to become extinct, the better the world will be.

The U.S. economy is under threat from adversaries like China targeting undersea cables with the ability to "inflict devastating economic chaos almost at will," a former U.S. intelligence official warned Sunday.

These cables carry 99% of global data and support up to $10 trillion in daily financial transactions, according to reports.

Andrew Badger, chief strategy officer at Coalition Systems, a defense tech startup, spoke as President Donald Trump is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing for talks expected to focus on trade, artificial intelligence and Taiwan.

Taiwan, a flashpoint in U.S.-China tensions, has reported about 30 subsea cable incidents in recent years, including one in which Chinese vessels allegedly severed cables and cut communications for months.
Gee, if only we had a president who cared about America instead of his criminal enterprise.

Ahh...isn't that about the same as the USA cutting Russia's $billion pipeline?

Isn't that called American exceptionalism?

Jews vote no matter.webp

America and Israel are free, your enemies (and many of your allies unfortunately) are not.

So, it is the good guys vs the bad guys. Simple thinking I know, but I do not have to make the calls. If your citizens had to experience a lifetime of employment, education and relationship interference you would understand.

If I have to worry ICE is going to kick down my door and send my wife to a concentration camp, then, no, I don't live in a free country.

If the Zionist Entity has to commit genocide and apartheid to keep the Arab Majority at bay, then, no, they don't live in a free country either.

Why would China do that?
They are the winners in a global economy. They hurt if those undersea cables are cut as much as western world...

Russia are different..
They have little need for global economy, being soviet isolationists and the have been caught off the coast of Ireland dragging their anchor...

China might do it to Taiwan but Taiwan could do straight back...
