Minnesota Attorney General Encourages Rioting

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, appearing on the Fox News talk show with Chris Wallace threw fuel on the fires of rioting, by saying yes to the question if the rioters have a reason to complain about the Minneapolis Police Dept. Ellison than praised the MPD chief, and did not say why the protestors should protest about their police department.

If anybody has any information about why Ellison would think that protestors have a reason to protest (and riot) I'd be interested in hearing it. And when guy like Ellison has the privilege of occupying a position in the power structure of Minnesota, gets the opportunity to go on a national TV show at a time of distress, he ought to make him more clear, especially if his words could exacerbate an already inflamed situation.

Maybe Ellison is reading this himself. If so, answer the question Ellison. What reason do you think Minneapolis protestors, rioters, and looters have, to do what they've been doing ? And if you have a beef with the MPD, specifically WHAT is it ?

I would be remiss, if I didn't mention that nutjob Professor Cornell West also appeared on the show and said "Thank God they're in the streets". Frankly, I think they would be better off at home, and expressing whatever they think their gripes are, right HERE on this computer forum.

Of course he is going to side with the looters...those are his 'people'.
He SPECIFICALLY said that looting and burning is a criminal act that does nothing to help the situation.

There are plenty of policy differences that we can pick apart. There is no reason to misrepresent someones position.

He doesn't NEED to state the fucking obvious...everyone knows that looting is against the law.
However justifying the 'reasoning' of looters from the legal perspective of the highest legal authority in the state...HIM... is not satisfactory...it is downright stupid.
You don't say things like that...this is the law. Words are valuable...priceless.
FFS.

The reason for the civil unrest is (again) a white police officer decided to murder a black man.

Do you deny this?

"Again"... more bath tubs have decided to kill people. You should recalibrate the compass if you believe a riot is justified because a criminal got killed by incompetent cop (combined with taking illegal substances) - in an exceedingly rare event.

This almost nothing to do with the man getting killed. You can find worse injustices every day. This is an 80 IQ mob of African Americans getting controlled by their media masters.

justifying the 'reasoning' of looters
I will need a quote for this. I watched the interview and did not catch him excusing the looting.
Sure bud

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison told people rioting in the streets over the death of George Floyd to direct their frustration toward the Minneapolis Police Department rather than the National Guard.

"I'd like everyone to recognize the fact that the National Guard just a week ago was administering COVID-19 tests to help people," Ellison said during a press conference Friday. "The presence you see on the street, don't react to them the way you might react to the Minneapolis Police Department. It's not the same group. They have different leadership, different authority, and their job is to try to bring peace and calm back again. Please remember that this is not the group that you associate with unfair conduct."

Now...is that the type of shit your top legal man in the state should be saying? That sound very 'legally sane'? Appropriate?
No...this is a radical, who is still radical...and the IDIOTS in Minnesota have elected a radical Socialist.

Hit nail directly on head. Just as it was with Rodney King and KTLA, the media has a lot of blame here. You don;t see them talking about the killing of Cody Holte, do you ? (a white cop murdered by a black thug, on the sane day as the Floyd death). Nor do you see whites, or cops, or anybody rioting over the Holte killing.

Minnesota= California North. Deadly force is required to restore law an order from the anarchist/Marxist. The scum at the Chicago DNC Convention 1968 should have been eliminated too.

We need a healthy dose of Generalmisso Augusto Pinochet!

Of course I deny it. There IS NO REASON for rioting, looting, vandalizing, etc, period. That is the "civil unrest" we're talking about.

You wanted a quote. I quoted Ellison communicating about the riots. In that quote he is directly addressing the mob. His words clearly indicate sympathy for that mob as he attempts to differentiate between police ("don't react to them the way you might react to the Minneapolis Police Department")
and the national guard ( their job is to try to bring peace and calm back again.)
Now...if you don't think those words indicate any intention of weakening the power and influence of police I have a bridge to sell you. The highest legal authority in your state DOES NOT....EVER confirm the bias of the mob.
This clown is a radical.

They want to get to the point where we don’t arrest black criminals they want their neighborhoods to be in complete chaos destroyed burn down so they can be controlled. And put in permanent housing aka interment camps

Here is the question Wallace asked, and then Ellison's answer >>

1:44 on the time bar >>>

Wallace: "Question: do blacks in Minneapolis have reason to distrust, or even to fear their local police. "

Ellison: "Sadly, yes. There is a history that has been repeated in time and time again.

Ellison does then give praise to "many officers" as well as the police chief, mayor, and city council. Then he comes back again and says >> "But it is an endemic problem in the Minneapolis Police Department"

Amazing that a state attorney general would talk like this, while police are out in the street trying to quell rioting. If he really did think the people have reason to distrust and fear the police department, he could at the very least wait until things have cooled down, maybe a week from now, before saying such things.

In the interview (3:12 on the time bar) Ellison adds more encouragement to protestors by talking about the words of Martin Luther King, and referring to "decades of state sponsored oppression"

Well, yeah. When Martin Luther King said those words in 1963, there had been decades of state sponsored oppression to blacks, especially in southern states. (up until THEN). Problem for Keith Ellison is, this is 2020, and since MLK spoke those words, the state sponsored oppression has turned around 180 degrees, and ever since, has been state (and private) oppression against white people in Affirmative Action programs of various types, with blacks being the beneficiaries, and white the victims.

To say, in 2020, that blacks have reason to be enraged, is preposterous. If anything, I could see them to be ashamed, rather than enraged, as Ellison put it.

These false ideas keep being planted in the heads of young blacks, by looney liberal politicians like Ellison, and scatterbrained college professors, as well as the do-anything-for-money mass media.

They do NOT have a right to riot, but they do have a reason to and the right to protest. You'll have to be able to follow along with events that are happening in the country in order to understand the reasoning.
:puhleeze: And those "events" are......WHAT ? :doubt:

He also supports ANTIFA. So that makes him someone that talks out of both sides of his face. What he claims publicly is now questionable.
