Seems like a huge waste of manpower. Thousands of agents wandering around and demanding to see the IDs of minorities.
It worked wonders in Germany, like 80 years ago.

Directly impede an investigation, yes, violate the 4th amendment over a minor traffic violation, absolutely not.
These guys sound so tough with the “surge thousands of agents”, but they’re really just hassling minorities at random. It worked wonders in Germany, like 80 years ago.
The odds that they get any obstruction charge to stick is pretty low. ICE is running around threatening everything with a pulse with obstruction and it’s getting ridiculous.??? The shooting had nothing to do with a traffic violation, why do you keep bringing that up? The ICE agent wasn't going to arrest her for that.
An oddly large number. Hence my question. While the exact number is not publicly known, it is believed that up to 2,000 federal agents could be in Minneapolis metro area.
Probably more being deployed there as we speak. Why do you ask?
This was a tragedy that should not have happened, and IMHO there are a number of people who deserve some blame for what transpired, starting with the shooter. He took out his gun, did she see it? If so, the prudent thing to do is to do as she's told by the ICE agents without resistance. She doesn't, tries to leave. I do not believe she ever had any intent to injure the ICE guy, she just wanted to get outta there. Even if she didn't see the gun, there comes a point where you gotta stop what you're doing. Put the car in Part and turn off the car and then unlock the door. Truth is, she crossed the line between exercising her 1st Amendment Rights and obstructing ICE agents doing their duty. Woulda been better for everybody except maybe the motherfucking mayor and governor if she had stayed outta the street.
Then there's the shooter, who was dragged last June. So help me, I don't see him acting in self-defense, he woulda been hyper-aware of the driver and the car and IMHO was prepared to get out of the way. Instead, he draws his gun. I think he was concerned about the ICE agent with his hand inside the car trying to open the door. He didn't want his fellow officer to get dragged like he did 6 months ago. If so, that's legit. What I don't know is at what point the non-shooter agent was free from the car. If neither agent was in danger of serious injury at that point then there's no reason to shoot the driver.
I kinda have a problem with the motherfucking mayor and governor and the other demagogues that were stirring up the pot and raising emotions. All that fiery rhetoric absolutely helps nothing except make those assholes more popular to their political base. But that's how you get people on the ground making mistakes and errors in judgement. It's hard for me to justify impeding LE people who are doing their jobs; protest if you want but stay on the ******* sidewalk, ICE has every right and even a duty to arrest those who obstruct them in the performance of their duty. Don't like it? Don't agree? Tough shit. Vote next November. Bring a lawsuit. But don't put yourself in harm's way. When you see a gun it's time to reassess what you're doing.
Where was the ******* MPD? They shoulda been there doing crowd control. Did you see any cops? I haven't. Maybe if a cop had told her to move her car instead of the ICE guy, things woulda been different? We'll never know. Move now or I'll arrest you. Sometimes it works. Maybe the ICE shooter wouldn't have been in the position he was, maybe it woulda been a cop. Who knows, maybe there wouldn't have been a shooting.

Because without Minnesota's backup, they have to have enough boots on the ground to protect themselves.Seriously though, the only question I have is why are there 3,000 ICE agents in a city lof less than 500K, vs. say Dallas or Atlanta?

If I take the blame how much money will I get and will it pay more by the dozen? This was a tragedy that should not have happened, and IMHO there are a number of people who deserve some blame for what transpired, starting with the shooter.
