Minneapolis shooting - who's to blame?

This was a tragedy that should not have happened, and IMHO there are a number of people who deserve some blame for what transpired, starting with the shooter. He took out his gun, did she see it? If so, the prudent thing to do is to do as she's told by the ICE agents without resistance. She doesn't, tries to leave. I do not believe she ever had any intent to injure the ICE guy, she just wanted to get outta there. Even if she didn't see the gun, there comes a point where you gotta stop what you're doing. Put the car in Part and turn off the car and then unlock the door. Truth is, she crossed the line between exercising her 1st Amendment Rights and obstructing ICE agents doing their duty. Woulda been better for everybody except maybe the motherfucking mayor and governor if she had stayed outta the street.

Then there's the shooter, who was dragged last June. So help me, I don't see him acting in self-defense, he woulda been hyper-aware of the driver and the car and IMHO was prepared to get out of the way. Instead, he draws his gun. I think he was concerned about the ICE agent with his hand inside the car trying to open the door. He didn't want his fellow officer to get dragged like he did 6 months ago. If so, that's legit. What I don't know is at what point the non-shooter agent was free from the car. If neither agent was in danger of serious injury at that point then there's no reason to shoot the driver.

I kinda have a problem with the motherfucking mayor and governor and the other demagogues that were stirring up the pot and raising emotions. All that fiery rhetoric absolutely helps nothing except make those assholes more popular to their political base. But that's how you get people on the ground making mistakes and errors in judgement. It's hard for me to justify impeding LE people who are doing their jobs; protest if you want but stay on the ******* sidewalk, ICE has every right and even a duty to arrest those who obstruct them in the performance of their duty. Don't like it? Don't agree? Tough shit. Vote next November. Bring a lawsuit. But don't put yourself in harm's way. When you see a gun it's time to reassess what you're doing.

Where was the ******* MPD? They shoulda been there doing crowd control. Did you see any cops? I haven't. Maybe if a cop had told her to move her car instead of the ICE guy, things woulda been different? We'll never know. Move now or I'll arrest you. Sometimes it works. Maybe the ICE shooter wouldn't have been in the position he was, maybe it woulda been a cop. Who knows, maybe there wouldn't have been a shooting.
I blame it on the Bossa Nova.

Illegaly blocking a roadway. She continued her lawlessness all the way to her final breath. Terrorism and crime don't pay. Spread the word.
It worked out fine for the MAGA terrorists who stormed the Capitol on January 6th and their criminal ringleader, Trump.

You make some good points. But the driver had been following and harassing ICE all day, she also was instructed repeatedly to get out of her car.
Many of these protesters are receiving training on how to instigate an altercation with LE. Also keep in mind only 1 side is calling for people to be killed.
It's sad the woman lost her life, but she made a choice to put herself in a dangerous situation.

Didn't know that. It was all fun and games until they approached her car and told her to get out of her car. She locked the doors so they couldn't get her out and apparently decided enough was enough and tried to leave. I wonder if she realized the danger she put herself in; judging from the look on her face, I'd guess not. I'm betting nobody told her about that.

Considering that another SUV had driven right by Good and she had waved them by, the argument that she was impeding traffic seems to fall pretty flat don't you think. An ICE agent has no legal authority to reach into your car. This goes for regular police officers as well. This can be considered a violation of the 4th amendment. ICE really only has federal law enforcement powers. Traffic violations are beyond the scope of their duties. You can't claim they're "impeding" when you still drive by either way.

She was a violent Democrat Inseruectionist who attempted to murder an ICE agent.
She is not a victim.

OMG. If I am stopped in traffic and waving people around me to go by, that is the very definition of impeding traffic.

it's not if you can still easily drive by. You cannot reach into anyone's car. That is actually the more unlawful act here times a million.

What? Deliberately stop in traffic and see what a cop would say if he saw it. You cannot be serious.

Chicky Baby was to blame. Wish it were otherwise, but she is the one who got all froggy behind the wheel.

No doubt she thought being a white woman she could threaten and instigate LE and not get shot.
Interesting how the overwhelming majority of protesting against ICE is white people.

It's sad that she lost her life, but she shouldn't have been there harassing the agents in the first place.

To impede means to make forward progress more difficult, which she was doing. You saw her waving people on, right? She was making people slow down, and that is impeding. Which she was doing on purpose, not only to the other cars but to the ICE agents to slow or hamper what they were doing.

"An ICE agent has no legal authority to reach into your car."

Sure about that, are you? I think they can if you are impeding them in the performance of their duties.

If ICE or anyone else violates your 4th Amendment rights or any other civil right that you have under the Constitution then you have legal recourse to sue 'em. But you do not have the authority to hinder ICE agents or any other LE agency from doing their legal duty and BTW you don't get to make that distinction. You can exercise your 1st Amendments rights to voice your concerns but you hafta stay the hell outta the way and if you don't then they have the right to arrest you cuz that is illegal (federal law). And that means an ICE agent can reach inside your car to open the door and pull you outta there.
