Øbamacare is a disaster. And Øbama doesn't care.
That is just stupid, it really is. 21 million people signed up this year, and open enrolment for 2025 is right around the corner. I mean I got to be honest, anyone that complains about the ACA has to be about as self-absorbed as Trump.
Before the ACA, literally, millions of people were chained to their job because of health insurance. Husband is self-employed, maybe a plumber, wife has to work at Walmart so they can have health insurance. Most of her income goes for daycare and work related expenses, gas, clothes, work does have a cost. But with the ACA, well the wife now stays at home with the kids, they have insurance through the ACA.
Before the ACA, millions of people dreamed of being entrepreneurs, they wanted to start their own business, but they, or their spouse, or one of their children, has a chronic condition. They had to have health insurance, so they worked for "the man", they could only dream of being an entrepreneur. Then the ACA came along, then they had the freedom to pursue their dreams.
Before the ACA, millions of people had the resources to retire. They had a nice 401K, but they couldn't retire until they were eligible for Medicare. And for those with a younger spouse with health issues, well Medicare provided no help for the spouse. Damn 75 year old man still struggling in a labor intensive job so that he can provide health insurance for his spouse. The ACA eliminated that.
Remember all the outrage over the declining labor participation rate when Obama was president. Well the ACA was the driving force behind that record decline and that is a GOOD THING, not a bad thing. It helps to increase wages for those that are working. And the real kicker, I am sure you and others won't believe it, but it is true. Without the ACA, GDP growth under the Trump administration would have been negative, the ACA was the force behind productivity growth, not anything Trump did.
The ACA had a significant impact on health care inflation, and it improved the quality of care at most hospitals. The ACA eliminated the infamous "doughnut hole" in Medicare prescription drug coverage. Obama eliminated the doughnut hole and Biden capped prescription drug expense for Medicare beneficiaries starti ng in 2025.
No issue better portrays just who the Republican party represents better than their obsession with eliminating the ACA. The ACA eliminated the ball and chain of health insurance on millions of Americans and the companies, well they didn't like that for shit. But, overwhelmingly, the people have supported the ACA. Quit being a useful idiot.
