Merchan stands firm on hush money case.

On to the appeals.
First, the scumbag judge will have to impose sentence.

That’s required in order to enter judgment. Until then, there is still no conviction. And also no appeal. (One can’t appeal a judgment of conviction until one is entered.)

Sounds like grounds for an emergency appeal.

Not likely. At least, it isn't likely to be fully heard. They just don't have any good arguments.
In fact, it’s a certainty.

And of course, the defense has the only viable arguments.

Farty, you’re incapable of posting intelligently.

All most of us want is accountability for crimes committed.
Oh bullshit. You guys just want to hang something, anything, on Trump to validate your TDS.

At worst, this was an expired bookkeeping misdemeanor, ginned up into a felony based on some novel theory that entering into an NDA is a conspiracy to interfere with an election.

Merchan has until Dec 20 to either vacate the verdict, or register a conviction and pronounce a sentence, so that Trump can file his appeal.

Doesn't matter....
They can't freeze it and it will move forward to appellate then State supreme and finally SCOTUS. It's inevitable.
What you appear to be implying is that all the appellate courts will rule against trump until the case goes to his Supreme Court where justice goes to die.

Whether anything ultimately gets hung on him or not it is apparent by virtue of the evidence that he is guilty of the crimes he was charged with.

Judge Denies Trump’s Bid to Throw Out Conviction Over Immunity Ruling

A judge on Monday rejected Donald J. Trump’s argument that a recent Supreme Court ruling had nullified his criminal case in New York, upholding the former and future president’s felony conviction for falsifying records to cover up a sex scandal.

The judge’s ruling preserves, at least for now, the stain of Mr. Trump’s criminal conviction. And if it withstands Mr. Trump’s appeal, it will make him the first felon to serve as president.

The ruling, which addressed the Supreme Court’s decision to grant presidents broad immunity for their official actions, thwarted only the first of several legal maneuvers Mr. Trump has concocted to clear his record of 34 felonies before returning to the White House.

Prosecutors had argued that the Supreme Court’s decision had “no bearing on this prosecution,” noting that Mr. Trump was convicted of orchestrating a scheme involving a personal and political crisis that predated his presidency.

All most of us want is accountability for crimes committed.
Good for him.

The evidence of trump's guilt was overwhelming.
The state's primary witness admitted in court to committing perjury and even admitted that he ripped Trump off to the tune of millions of dollars.

Then the judge gave the jury the option of finding Trump guilty of a lessor charge....and then the judge changed the charge to fit the false claims of the prosecution.

No evidence of a conspiracy was ever presented in court. The charges themselves were fake because the election commissioner testified in court that a document error isn't a crime. Nor is paying hush money to a hooker. The whole trial was convoluted to all get-out.

Technically, as far as a conviction goes, there is none. So there is nothing to appeal.

if he were so inclined, then suppose he could demand that the court do its job and set a sentencing date. Then, after sentencing, he can finally file an appeal.

I’m not sure this is in his best interest.

Whether anything ultimately gets hung on him or not it is apparent by virtue of the evidence that he is guilty of the crimes he was charged with.
There was little "virtue" in that conviction, Berg! The charges were manufactured. The DA wasn't impartial. Neither was the judge. It was the kind of trial you seen in Banana Republics. You on the left thought your "lawfare" would damage Trump but in reality it didn't do that at all!

Piss poor attempt at deflection. 47 is a convicted felon. Live with it
The American people looked at that conviction and sent a loud and clear message that they didn't think it was just. You on the left will have to live with THAT!
