For years, I have mocked the idea of public figures complaining about "threats," or "death threats." Anyone who is in any way controversial will get "death threats." Part of being famous, and easily avoided by avoiding jobs that put you in the public eye.

But lately, the threats have become much more serious, at least from the left/Democrats/liberals. Only in the last few months. we've seen multiple assassination attempts designed to eliminate the people's choice for the presidential election in hopes that the DNC's choice will win by default, and now a killing on the sidewalk of a person whose name most of us did not know before the event, but who was a CEO of a health insurance provider that only did what it was allowed to under Obamacare.

I believe that next it will be "ordinary" liberals/Democrats/Lefties killing their ordinary acquaintences who openly support Trump. They are not used to hearing opposing opinions. With Trump's great victory, people are much more willing to talk about making America great again. Democrats are used to using complaints to HR to be the only ones talking politics in the workplace. I've noticed a celebratory attitude, even in a public school. Democrats' positions do not stand up to debate, so they may turn to violence, as people do when words fail them.

I don't know what to do about this rise in political violence. The FBI will be a better agency under the next administration, but they cannot keep radical professors from radicalizing young adults who have already been indoctrinated by 13 years of public schooling, and they cannot lock up every person who makes a threat because we don't have the prison space.

It's a problem that we must solve for ourselves, by protecting ourselves. Stay armed, no matter what occurs, and take elementary precautions like not driving to work the same way every day, and circling your car before you open the door. Stay alert, stay alive!
