We learned that Medicare, a program often singled out as an example of a "Successful" government program is subject to at least $60Billion annually lost to fraud and waste.

Our Librul brothers and sisters tend to gloss over this, but to put in in perspective, in 2009 the annual budgets for entire states were as follows:

CA $208B
NY $121B
TX $89B
FL $65B
PA $63B
Medicare Fraud $60B
All other states less than this annually

So, the 6th largest state in the Country by expenditure is the State of Medicare Fraud.

Ain't that wonderful? I've got a great idea: let's double down on this losing bet!

Instead of addressing this and fixing this Obama & the Dems want the Federal Government to have total control over the Health Care system.

Also remember...mediCAID and mediCARE are two different things. It's sort of hard for clients to defraud medicare since it's dependent upon age or proven disability (combined with work quarters). I think there's a bit of fraud going on with care providers and health care facilities, though.

Medicaid goes primarily to youngsters. I process applications all the time where I know people are lying about their living situation so they can get medical coverage. Primarily they're very young parents with no education and no decent jobs, often substance abuse problems, who lie about their living situation so they can obtain plus medical for mom and the kids. Or if dad quit his last job and was determined ineligible for unemployment, and he's been the primary wage earner, they'll lie about their living situation so mom & kids can be eligible for cash assistance.

My God - I've just read some of the most assinine posts I've ever seen. Medicare is a program that covers people regardless of party affiliation. Take a look at your paystub - you're already "buying into" the program every payday and your employer makes a similar contribution on your behalf. This "new" idea of making people "buy into" Medicare = paying higher Medicare taxes. Are you a <GASP!> Republican?

Most Medicare fraud is made by unscrupulous doctors - and not all doctors are Republicans. Most Medicaid fraud is made by recipients trying to play the system. And, by the way, AARP is, generally speaking, an organization with a socialist bent. It became very apparent when AARP backed the healthcare reform issue. AARP stands to make money off the deal because they get kickbacks on the various programs they offer seniors - including the AARP health insurance option. That's why their losing membership by the droves.
