Unfortunate. Yes a small number of children are unexplainably bothered by some of the Christmas traditions. But the vast majority are not and should not be denied their delight and enjoyment of it all.
I wouldn't wish my childhood on anyone.

Advent is also importent in Germany.
There is the Adventskranz, classically in green with 4 red Candles, the Adventskalender with 24 windows, the Barbarazweige from December 4 on, and Saint Nikolaus on Dec 6

.

There are left cult assholes here who believe that Santa Claus has nothing to do with a saint.

And sickos in Norway who believe Saint Nicholas is a homosexual.

- the taking of a heavenly trees life for heedless display idolic or not is an impardonable sin.

Christmas is 1,000% PAGAN. It is another gift to the world from that Great Whore of a church who introduced paganism into the "Christian" world

You shall NOT worship the Lord your God as the nations around you worship their gods.

Luther invented the Christ Child. 😊
You can see it in Nuremberg😊
As the WW II Nuremberg Trials for seeing Christiananality pedophilia in that it’s an insult to insult those regarding human reproduction medical pseudoscience as “man is God”……

How's about a Hanukkah Bush?

Maybe some ultra fundamentalist or offbeat Christian groups forego all the normal Christmas symbols and traditions, but most Americans enjoy all the symbols, traditions, festivities, both Christian and secular.

I can't imagine denying a small child the thrill, wonder, joy of concepts of Santa Claus and his elves and reindeer and all the other mythology. The concept of the joyous celebration of Christmas is contained in these myths even though the characters and symbolism is fiction.

And I think all Christians who practice Christianity also utilize the symbolism of Christmas trees, the star of Bethlehem, nativity scenes, visitation of the Magi, angels, and other components of the Biblical Christian stories in order to teach children or remind themselves of the wonder of it all.
well said 👍👍👍

and 5 of 5 voted for Christmas Tree and Mistletoe. 👍👍👍

Most Christmas trees come from Christmas tree farms and are grown for profit for that specific purpose. To deny the people who make their living doing that would be an unpardonable sin.

Here in New Mexico, when we were younger, the state issued permits allowing people to go into designated areas to cut their own Christmas trees. This usefully thinned the forests as well as providing the freshest tree possible.

Probably most people now use the lifelike artificial trees. These can be used again and again for years.

the sin is the latter of your post - taking the freshest life for a most thoughtless purpose to display ornaments.
definitely biblical w/ no regards for the heavens.

Then they said, “Let us make life in our image, in our likeness, the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky the livestock and all the wild animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground.”

what jesus taught in the 1st century - foxfyre listens to much to moses and judaism.

Geez you have no clue what I posted. But not only can you not express yourself competently, but you obviously can't read. Oh well. Have a nice day. (I'll be exercising my NYR from this point on.)

Christmas was borrowed directly from Saturnalia by what came to be known as the Catholic Church. The Daughters of the Whore followed their Mother in this tradition of MEN. Now "christians" boldly defend what God commanded we must not do.

In VAIN do they worship me teaching as commandments the TRADITIONS OF MEN

Nice corruption and total distortion of Jesus' teaching in Matthew 15. Proof texting almost always gets people in trouble in credibility.

I know of absolutely no law or requirement that any particular lovely tradition celebrating Christmas must be a rule or law. You have every right to not participate in that but it is excessively and unBiblical authoritarian to deny others the right to participate. Or to judge their hearts when you have no authority or special insight to do that.

Do have a nice day though.

You see, this is why it's important not to be reading from watered down versions of the Bible.

You can make the Bible say anything you wish by changing the words.

Genesis 1

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

God also warned against it.

Revelation 22

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

"In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things love."

All of this points to non-essentials.
"The 'watchword of Christian peacemakers.'

One lovely tradition in Carlsbad in southern New Mexico where the Pecos River widens and deepens sufficient to be navigable is "Christmas on the Pecos."

Along about a mile stretch the spacious back yards of old estates extend to the water's edge on both sides of the river. Every year those homeowners put up wonderful lighted Christmas displays--some secular, some religious. The city arranges for boats, each carrying 20 or 30 or so passengers, to travel up and down the river to see these beautiful displays.

A couple of those families are Jewish but they too get into the spirit of the thing. But instead of Christmas displays, they put up a beautiful Star of David, maybe a huge minorah or other symbols of the Jewish faith. Everybody loves it.

And in my opinion, it all warms the heart and you feel the love that goes into it all. A gift of Christmas (or Hanukkah) for no other reason than for people to just enjoy.

the 1st century events are the refutation of judaism -

Then they said, “Let us make life in our image, in our likeness, the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky the livestock and all the wild animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground.”

what jesus taught in the 1st century in correction of judaism and the false claims of moses ....

and no, the killing of a tree for a holiday celebration or any useless endeavor is not warranted and not relevant to the event for that reason.
