Massive Ballot scandal in Fairfax County, Va. Envelopes have holes that show if voter voted for Republicans.

No, you can't see "what party" someone voted for as we don't vote by party in Virgina. We vote by individual office and those running for an office.

In the sample image you can see ONLY one ballot circle for - IIRC - the AG vote for one candidate.

#1 You cannot see other votes cast on the ballot.

#2 The vote circle being darkened in or not does not indicate all choices which are the R, the D, or write in. A darkened circle means an (R) vote, a non-darkened circle could be (A) a D vote, (B) a write in vote, or (C) no vote cast at all for the office.

But see here in VA, Fairfax County tends to vote D, hence calling for the entire ballot to be disqualified, even for races not impacted by the hole. A tactile marker required for the visually disabled by Virginia law (the placement of which I agree was not good).

so you are saying col angus is full of shit then?...

"Someone" is a little generic Harry, the hole (such a device required under Virginia law) is on the inner security envelope, there is no hole in the outer mailing envelope, meaning only election workers have access to it.

WW
And election workers that would handle the ballots are set up in Opposing pairs. Not certain on Virgina?, one Republican, one democrat plus a required pair of process poll watchers from the respective political parties...

And if it is the inside envelope, that will be removed by opposing party paired election workers....whether it has a hole or not, would seem to matter naught since voter is not identified at that point (it is the outer envelope with that info) and they can see the ballot and the ballot's votes checked... when the ballot is removed and unfolded for future scanning by them, who needs a hole?

Plus....there is no means to be able to throw out a ballot either by the ones that can see in with an opposing party worker watching, and there are counts of the batches of votes, that are sent in from precincts etc, and scan counted when they reach the counting place and all kinds of checks involved that are set up to find out if ballots disappeared or were added to....

Just another idiotic post by you.

If the ballots disclose how one voted…THEY ARE ILLEGAL BALLOTS.

How can this even be a discussion?

How exactly does a hole nowhere near the signature line help guide visually impaired people sign their ballot?

I don't know if it was deliberately placed where it was to show Republican votes. Seems very coincidental. Very.

Prove it! Do you even know how elections work and are run? Gop is counting on your ignorance to push their never ending election fraud mantra.

Each Virginian voting absentee ballot, just needs to check and see if their ballot was received and counted on Virginia's vote tracking system, available online....for this election to be certain no hanky panky took place....

And then for future elections they need to find another way to help the seeing handicapped....disabled.

Unlike you I am an independent and am not beholden to a particular political party. Older folks like you have been brainwashed.

Not really.

The envelope was not designed well and tested - IMHO. I will say I’m not knowledgeable about Fairfax County in:
  • Who made the design
  • What was the testing process
  • Who reviewed and approval the final product
I’m saying I disagree with the knee jerk reaction that it was an attempt at fraud and that ALL the votes on a ballot should be invalidated. The one vote where the whole was? Possibly, but only for envelopes where the vote was visible. If he ballot were inserted the other way with no vote showing, even those should be retained.

Let’s be real, the faux outrage is to fuel that this is a blue voting county and the MAGA don’t want the DEM votes to count.

The hole isn’t there for ballot signature. It’s for the vision impaired to ensure they are using the security envelope.

The hole only shows one circle is the ballot is inserted a certain way. It didn’t shore all the votes.

A hole?

:laughing0301:

Why are there holes in the ballot envelope?
The holes are included for the following reasons:
  • For the visually impaired: The holes serve as a tactile guide, helping voters with visual impairments locate the signature line on the ballot envelope to ensure they sign in the correct place.
  • For election officials: The holes allow election workers to quickly confirm that a ballot has been removed from its envelope during the processing and counting phase. This prevents any accidental discarding of unopened ballots.

Explain how that hole guides the visually impaired?

It shouldn't be showing anything, period.

Then it can be placed where it will not reveal a vote choice. It was intentionally placed.

Because the election workers who can have the opportunity to view it, are the ones who are in pairs of opposite parties with official election poll watchers.... remove the ballot from the envelope, who can already see what all the ballot votes are once they remove them from their envelope...., and have no means to discard a ballot....

There is a count of ballot envelopes before they are opened, and a count of the unfolded election ballot when they are done opening and from the envelopes, and they HAVE TO MATCH in count, before they move on to count scanning machines...and a count of the ballots when the scanning machine is done processing the batch, they too, have to match the initial count of ballot envelopes received by the election counting facility.

Any discarding or padding of votes inside the scanning facility will be caught, always.

What were the odds of it being placed exactly where it was when you consider every other location on both sides? I'd say pretty small.

I know you would.

On the other hand when someone inserted a test ballot in the "right way" and the hole was over blank space or on the back.

However if the ballot were flipped front/back or vertically the hole was empty.

Poor testing.
