Massive Ballot scandal in Fairfax County, Va. Envelopes have holes that show if voter voted for Republicans.

They can’t see the hole and the paper is so thin and hole small they can’t feel where the hole is or isn’t

Security envelopes are not thin paper. They are thicker stock to prevent see through.

I’m not blind and could feel such a hole.

People that make up things just to fuel their rage are funny.

You refer to a stack of envelopes.

The hole isn’t there for the election workers.

The hole is there per Virginia law for the visually impaired voter.

WW
If you say so. Got a source for this claim?

Well one.

The state of Virginia if you were to check our laws.

And 2, me. I’m a Virginia voter that has voted by mail.

And 3, in the image below you can see California also uses mailing envelopes with an inner security envelope with a hole in it.

Fair enough, but the voter doesn't send back the outer one. Only the inner, yellow one gets returned with the ballot inside.

The postman and election worker will never see the inner envelope.

Care to share it?

edit - nvm, I see your post #101.

But the hole is not there to guide where to sign. And it is also used to help election workers see if there's a ballot inside without opening it.

No the whole is NOT there to guide where to sign.

The hole is there to provide tactile identification (according Virginia Statute § 24.2-704) to provide envelope identification to the visually impaired.

The hole is not located next to the signature line.

What does the dot centered perfectly in your “ tactile hole” represent?

What does the dot centered perfectly in your “ tactile hole” represent?

It's not "my tactile hole". It an accommodation for the visually impair required by Virginia Statute § 24.2-704. A side benefit is that it provide a visual indicator to election staff that the ballot was (a) removed as part of the process, or (b) the voter failed to insert their ballot and needs to be contacted.

However, the placement represents poor design and faulty QA. The placement of the whole should have been such thatg no voter choice should have been visisible.

What would be the point in a Democratic stronghold? More MAGA distraction to cover up the shutdown and Epstein debacles, IMO.

Actually it makes complete sense.

You toss the votes of those that are "leaving the plantation", adn then when you report moderate turnout from a "democratic stronghold" with a high percentage of dem votes, no one finds anything strange about that and it passes without question.

It's funny how selective leftard imagination is. THey can see the most subtle and hidden signs of various "isms" and "phobes", but the simplest concepts that shine a light on THEIR behavior, and it's like their brains just shut down.

You are clearly a bunch of ******* gaslighting assholes.

Does the hole allow unqualified people to see who the vote is for or not? That's the question.

Nothing is supposed to violate the anonymity of the ballot, yet here you are claiming that it's no big deal if it does.

He's just a gaslighting asshole, trying to provide political cover for his side getting caught.

If voter privacy is not maintained, the ballots are ILLEGAL.

Pretty simple stuff.

Pretty simple stuff.

Voter privacy is maintained.

Here in Virginia the ballot package contains:
  • Detailed instructions
  • The Ballot
  • Inner Security Envelope
  • Outer mailing Envelope
Once the ballot is completed, it goes into the security envelope, that they goes into the outer mailing envelope. At which point it's placed in the mail, since the security envelope is INSIDE the mailing envelope there is no compromise there as no one can see through the hole from the time it is sealed in the mailing envelope to the time it's opened by election officials.
.
.
.
.
So now explain in details how it was compromised under the two scenerios below:

#1 The ballot is cast, the ballot sealed in the security envelope, that then placed in the mailing envelope and mailed. The mailing envelope is received by election officials. Election officials working in pairs and under the observation of watchers from BOTH the DEM and GOP parties who function as election observers. The security envelope is removed from the mailing envelope, security checks are made, the security envelope is then opened and the ballot removed. At that point the security envelope is in the hand of election officials AND the ballot with all vote visible are now in the hands of those election officials.

#2 The ballot is cast, the ballot sealed in the security envelope, that then placed in the mailing envelope and mailed. The mailing envelope is received by election officials. Election officials working in pairs and under the observation of watchers from BOTH the DEM and GOP parties who function as election observers. The security envelope is removed from the mailing envelope, security checks are made, thje security envelope has single vote visible in some cases, the security envelope is then opened and the ballot removed. At that point the security envelope is in the hand of election officials AND the ballot with all vote visible are now in the hands of those election officials.
.
.
.
What exactly is the difference as the election officials - working in teams under observation by Election Watchers from both parties - between seeing a single cirlce through the hole and those same election workers removing the ballot from the envelope and at that point "seeing" both the voter identification on the security envelope and ALL the votes cast on the ballot once removed from the envelope?

WW

You have the right to cast your vote in private, without intimidation or coercion.

The hole in the security envelope - the design of which was poor and failed QA testing IMHO - does not compromise the right to privacy of the vote. The vote was still cast in private, no one but the voter and election officials can see the circle visible in some mail-in security envelopes. And those same election officials are going to be removing the ballot from the security envelope at which point they could see ALL the votes on the ballot while holding the security envelope from the voter.

Again, placement of the hole required by Virginia Law was poor, no disagreement there. But it is not cause to disenfrancise the voter.

But of course Fairfax County is a blue county in Virginia, so I can understand why you would want to disenfrancise voters from a blue county.

WW

No need for the envelope to disclose how the PRIVATE vote was cast.

No need for the envelope to disclose how the PRIVATE vote was cast.

The mail-in pacakge does not disclose how the private vote was cast. The only people that can see the whole are the voter and the election officials that would see the inner security envelope and the ballot anyway.

Again, placement of the hole required by Virginia Law was poor, no disagreement there. But it is not cause to disenfrancise the voter.
