In the old days, when only amateurs could participate in the Olympics, scholastic sports were our feeder programs. But then, Russia was kicking our ass. So gradually, we started changing things. But when the NIL and portal (free agency) kicked in, that damaged the NCAA irreparably. I don't know how you put that cat back into the bag, but it definitely needs to be done.

I find it entertaining. Back before I got too old and my friends got too many kids we would all take off the First Friday of the Tournament, head to a bar around 11:30AM, and watch 12 hours of basketball.
