The American Dream is realized by millions every day. Of course, it isn't the dream most complain about not being able to afford. You spend your money on the things that are important to you. That is your American Dream. Some examples are,

College education.
Latest fashion clothes.
Smart phones.
Internet
Cable and movie channel tv
New vehicles
Starbucks coffee
Fast foods.
Overeating
Restaurant meals.
Travel
Drugs and alcohol.
Partying
Hairdos, cosmetics
Boob jobs, Botox, etc.
Music concerts, sports events.
Betting, gambling
Preventable medical costs.
Jewelry.
Add your own dream stuff to the list.

Then there's that small group that actually saves up for a house.

The American Dream is basically the dream of most people on earth: Health, wealth, and happiness (not necessarily in that order).

Sadly, many do everything they can achieve the opposite. :(

I'd like to think what I leave behind won't be pissed away with half the stuff on your list. Hopefully I taught them better.
I'm hoping that of my kids as well. Sadly, their mother taught them most of their 'values' after our divorce.

For decades my response to 'how's it going' / 'how are you' has been LIVIN" THE DREAM....obviously i'm trying to provoke responses Mr Woodz..... ;) ~S~

1) stay single until no earlier than 30
2) find a full time working spouse who earns 6 figures
3) work, save, invest, retire in one's 50s.

Perfect dream.

I love working, period. Doesn't much matter what it is as long as it isn't 'paperwork'.
