Many Mock Righteousness

"Many Mock Righteousness"

No, what’s being appropriately mocked and derided is the arrogance common to far too many Christians and other theists.
Your problem isn't with William Gurnall. Your problem is with the Written Word of God, Clayton.
It is those who seek to interpret the scriptures that invite a good mocking. Many of the seem to have only a tenuous grip on what normal people would recognise as Christianity.

How are people supposed to react to these clowns and their hate filled spew ?

Samuel Rodriguez Says His Freedom To Preach Is At Stake In 2016 Election

I do not recognize the name Samuel Rodriquez nor do I need to know it. If he is preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ then your argument is with God's Word not the individual who is preaching God's Word. The same would apply to the other links you are posting - if it lines up with the Word of God, if that is what the Holy Spirit led them to do - then your problem is with God. It isn't with His servants. Now if God was not leading them to do what they did (or say what they said) then they shall answer to the LORD for it. With that said, let's talk about you, Tommy.

I've read some of your posts and see that you are quite passionate about defending Islam and defending homosexuals but I wonder if you realize that Islam does not believe in "homosexual rights" and according to Shariah law you would be executed for being a homosexual.

Now I do not know if you are a homosexual or perhaps someone you care about is in that lifestyle but what I do know is that you are not happy. In fact, when I am reading your posts what I hear is a man who is very unhappy.

William Gurnall once said that Murderers can only kill once, but by meditating on his miseries a man kills himself a thousand times over, as often as the fear of death steals into his mind.

On the other hand, a born again Christian who has repented of their sins and received the free gift of salvation enjoys fellowship with God and the peace that passes all understanding. God's peace. That is the peace God desires to give to you. Satan would have you believe that you cannot have peace with God but that is not true. Satan will tell a man that his sins are too great and he cannot be forgiven. That is also not true.

Jesus died on a cross, God raised Him on the 3rd day from the dead and he has paid the penalty for your sins. All of them. The question is are you going to accept his pardon and be reconciled back to God or do you want to stand at the judgment seat of God without that pardon and be judged according to your own righteousness? It is one or the other, Tommy.

Apart from the righteousness that Jesus Christ offers, our righteousness is as filthy rags. That is not a viable option for anyone. We must come to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and we must seek the Lord with our whole heart. Not with a divided heart. With our whole heart. So think about this and consider that Jesus Christ is not condemning you. He didn't come to condemn you. You're already condemned. He's not looking to add to your misery. His desire is to set you free. That is why He paid the debt for your sins. Read John Chapter 3 in the KJV Holy Bible.

Jesus cannot be the Savior because he did not fulfill the requirements of the awaited Messiah. Christianity was started by Jews who didn't have the patience or metaphysical fortitude to abide the true scriptures. That is exactly who so many crazy cults have started. "Hey, if was OK for Jesus it must be OK for me too! I'm the Messiah!"

Kinda ironic since the same clergy who blasted Michael Jackson for sleeping with young boys have ignored the same story in their NT whereby young Lazarus is seen fleeing naked from Jesus' cabin where they both slept that night. Jesus hometown was Capernaum says the NT, a town liken to
San Francisco, and the Judas Apochrypha says Jesus was Bi, having relations with Lazarus and John. The founding church continues this man boy love club trying to hide what is really never been much of a secret. So how can they have such adamant stances against same sex relations? Self hate and displaced or projective behavior perhaps?

Tommy, I didn't look at all of the links but if you would like for me to look at them, I will. I do not know who Scott Lively is or what he teaches or the other man Rodriquez - I don't recognize those names. What is important here is for you to study the Word of God and see what Jesus taught and ask yourself does what these men teach line up with the Word of God? Is it the truth? If it is the truth according to the Word of God, receive it and if it is not the truth according to the Word of God have nothing to do with them.

You say these men have "hijacked" Christianity. No one is hijacking my faith in Jesus Christ. Why is that? Because I know the One whom I have believed. I know my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. My faith is based on the Written Word of God and my trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ. Not men. Men can go astray and when they do they lead others astray who do not know the Word of God. If you are following Jesus Christ and you study the Word of God you are not going to be led astray. You will know the counterfeit from the genuine. The Holy Spirit will be your teacher and you will know when something isn't lining up with the Word of God. Follow Jesus and let God handle the rest.

Follow Jesus and let God handle the rest.
G_d resides at the end of the Road straight ahead. If you "follow Jesus" you will not arrive at G_d's Welcoming Centre because Jesus' Route takes an Exit along the way. G_d welcomes everyone: Christian, Jew, Moslem, Hindu, Buddhist, Americans, Atheists, Agnostics .... everyone. The only Requirement into His Kingdom is that you take care of your Fellow Man and seek Him out. Playing G_d or filling your Neigbour's Head with Superstition and the Exclusion of G_d's Kingdom to non-Christians will not find kind Favour in G_d's Forgiveness. It would be wise to repent these Sins of yours and follow G_d's Will, rather than to continue the twisted Route of novice Prophets such as Jesus. May G_d be with you in this new Quest and bestow upon you the spiritual Wisdom to return to the Path toward G_d's Kingdom.

The self-righteous are those who attempt to establish their own righteousness according to their own standards rather than believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and receiving His righteousness. The righteous are those who are the redeemed, they are walking in the Lord's righteousness which He has given His servants through Salvation in Jesus Christ..

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Psalm 107:2

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Philippians 3:9-10

James 2:23

And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

The thread is actually entitled "many mock righteousness". I do not believe this to be the case. I believe that it is the charlatans who come in for deserved mocking and I have provided you with a roster of such people. These characters are deserving of mockery for their activities. Activities which have little or nothing to do with Christianity.

The most vile people I have ever met have been the most religious
You'll get no argument from me there, @skullpilot. The worst persecution I have ever suffered has come at the hands of religious (yet spiritually dead) people. Religious people operate with a carnal mind and will lie through their teeth because in their mind, the end justifies the means. They despise true holiness because it reminds them of what they are not. Religious people believe they can earn their own righteousness by way of church attendance, good works, dead rituals and man made rules - while refusing the Lordship of Jesus Christ over their own lives. They want to make God into their own image in order to accommodate their own private sins. The persecution I have endured from people in the world doesn't even tip the scale in comparison. Still, what has that to do with this thread? The OP is about people who mock the righteous. Not the religious. I haven't found the religious to be mocked. The world readily accepts such people because they don't hear the true Gospel of Jesus Christ being preached and feel no conviction when listening to them.

Christianity is about a relationship with Jesus Christ and obedience unto Him alone. Religion says - you cannot have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and obedience unto Him alone. Religion will teach you that a personal relationship without their church as the mediator is dangerous. Religion says - you must join us and come through us and obey "our doctrines" about Jesus. Religion says - Salvation comes through our church, our organization, our membership, our doctrine only. Religion says - you have to do it our way or you won't make it to heaven. Religion is about control.

A relationship with Jesus Christ is about freeing you from man's control so that you can follow the LORD and go where the Spirit of God leads you to go. A relationship with Jesus Christ leads to everlasting life. Dead religion (and religious works) leads a person away from Jesus Christ.

The thread is actually entitled "many mock righteousness". I do not believe this to be the case. I believe that it is the charlatans who come in for deserved mocking and I have provided you with a roster of such people. These characters are deserving of mockery for their activities. Activities which have little or nothing to do with Christianity.
William Gurnall was a righteous man and on this very thread you can read someone mocking him. Jesus Christ was mocked by His accusers. Are you going to tell me that you believe that Jesus Christ was unrighteous, Tommy?

There are no righteous people, everyone believes in something that turns someone's stomach.
God has always had a remnant. This isn't about what everyone out there believes. This is about believing the truth which is the Written Word of God. All of it.

How can you possibly believe the King James Bible is the words of God? The evidence for mistranslations and errors is overwhelming.

So we should do this? "And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him. Leviticus 24:16"

Did you know that many questions are actually statements in disguise? Have you ever wondered why people cannot be up front with what their real problem is with obeying God rather than deflecting with things that have nothing to do with their rebellion? What's your reason?

Look, that's not the only part where the bible says to kill someone over something trivial, so if you haven't killed anyone who has cursed using the Lord's name, like a "goddam!" or a "JESUS ******* CHRIST!", then you're not even a real Christian anyways. it's not a pick n' choose kind of thing. So stop trying to be the most righteous person ever, you're nothing but another con man.
