But in the other post you stated he's a full time student.....So, "two hours a day" sounds fishy.Noooooooo, i specifically asked if he paid into unemployment before collecting?I guess you missed the part where he was full time student collecting unemployment.
And you know for a fact that a 20-something has paid in a year's worth of salary into unemployment and isnt taking more than he put in how exactly?
It's nice to hear that you support liberal safety net programs tho.
And, what is so wrong with him going to school on a loan he has to pay back?
Sounds like he's quite a responsible person.
Now, if he fails to pay back that loan, or was found to be commiting fraud to collect unemployment, then get back to me.
He could have been working but wasn't. He CHOSE to stay out of the workforce to spend his time in school yet he still collected full enemployment benefits for over a year with no intention of looking for a job during that time. In fact, he didn't look at all. He just went to school a couple of hours a day collected. Did I mention he lives with his Mom rent free?
To answer your question, yes, he did pay in but he didn't pay in anywhere near as much as he got back.
He took advantage of the system. Personally, I'm fine with it but I do find some of his positions on issues pretty damn hypocritical considering his real life situation and actions.
I had no idea you had such a liberal view on unemployment benefits.
Plus, I believe part of the requirement for a student to collect unemployment, would be to provide full class schedules, and to have paid into it prior to collecting.
I have no problem with unemployment benefits. Very few people do.......Most people don't abuse them like many of the welfare suckers do. And unemployment seems to be much more accountable than welfare.
I'm a former business owner, Luissa......I know quite a bit about how unemployment works.

Oh well at least the old guy has still luck winning lottery but as far as food stamps go if he meets underlaw the required incom status and qualifies he is still going to get food stamps reguardless of his luck in winning a lottery ticket. But as law is written each state requires certain law to be either in favor or against certain value or income status even to say what you have in the bank or if you have money in your bank account as all revenue must be recorded and this includes winnings or inheritance as in Mass if your living in Federal Housing Project and your rent is based on your income then if you report winnings from a lottery they expect you to pay back what you was given. As if you was paying rent like 150.00 dollars a month and you paid this amount for one year as a example, then the State tryes to get your time living their for low income status say 12 mos and they want you to pay the full required amount that would be against your total income thats registered against your name even pay check or creditcard income the state of Mass will try to get back pay and then charge you accordingly for full amount of your total sum. Example if you was eligable for Social Security and say they paid you a check for twenty three thousand , then the state would say you owe us accordingly and to what ever they post you as they will either make you pay back and also either throw you out or they will say you have to pay this much money for back rent and this is your new rent increase, so people usually move out rather to pay much more than what it is worth for you to live there. And usually people just move and give up their apartments for the needy as it was before you got lucky. So eventually you could be a bit easy and try to say nothing but the government or the State will find out and if you stay there and say nothing eventually they will meet and find out that you have recorded income not reported to them and you will have to pay every penny back. So best solution is to move and leave them as I did once I found out they will read your income status eventually and add on interest from day one of when your income status claimed moved up or down. It is ok when you needed low income rental status and to work out the money you had which classified you to a lower income. This is why everytime your house hold changes so dosn`t your status either go up or down depending on each one`s circumstances. I believe this is fair and they are only looking to get their money they were more or less letting you live there as everyone else was paying according to their recorded income etc. So you or any one else should not be any different. It keeps the record straight and they as the State and Fed Government make the law according to which way they see it and how people make their income, and if you meet the requirements then you qualify to register etc. But moving into a government housing project originally was for the low income veterans this was a benefit but the politics changed it to where the low family income was no different if you served in the military or if you were never in the military you still could get in if you had political favor it was that simple so I always wondered why some people got bigger housing units or newer buildings verses the old housing which was after the 50` Korea conflict etc. My mother lived in the housing projects for almost 63 years. Always on low income even though she worked 25 years for Bradlees Dept store. That era people made probally 30.00 dollars a week or less. So today things are so different I would like to see low income again but also everything around you would sell for pennies on the dollar. Changing the wages and the economy it would take America a very long time to get the money thats owed to them. But the world will never change as far as money or income if anything they will keep it the way the system is running. And if you owe they will usually win in the end. So the bureaucats will be the ruler. Law is written for gain. In closing always remember there will always be some one out there to take your money.
So which mod changed the title?
