Are you surprised no one on Wall Street has faced federal charges of securities or control fraud?Wall street didn't cost me anything.
People who took mortgages they couldn't afford and then refinanced every time their homes went up a dollar in value did though.
After the much smaller S&L looting in the 1980s hundreds of bankers were charged and convicted, and every conviction and filing was covered in the corporate press.
This allowed the public to more fully understand the crimes themselves and also government's role in facilitating the crimes.
