Yes, war is evil. Putins loose application of the nuclear threat is a danger to the world, not just Europe. Even their ally China is aware of this.

In the end, Europe needs to have far better leadership today than they did in the 1940s. The major leaders there need to meet for a couple of days and map out contingency plans. You don't scratch your ass and hope Russia will just get bored and go home. You have to accept that there is a real risk that Europe will need to confront Russia in a defensive posture. This is vastly more palatable than doing what Germany and France did in the past in invading Russia.

America realizes that its focus must be on the Asian-Pacific. They know that China is sitting back enjoying this and they have real plans to invade Taiwan if Taiwan gets too uppity and decides that their own self determination matters.
