Basically, the adminstration has done nothing to ease my fears of the debt. They have plans to end the war in Iraq but I doubt the follow through with it.

If he tries to end the war y'all (not meaning you specifically, just the right in general) will flip out.

I just got through telling you that my generation isn't in power right now.

Nobody my age is in the senate and I think the youngest congressman is like 27 and he's pretty much all alone.

And last time I checked the youth vote doesn't make up anywhere near a majority of the voting electorate.

You have to agree that this was not the time to even attempt to pass a hc bill. His number one job is the defense of this country, and economy/deficit plays an important roll in our Country's safety. To me it looks like he has gone out of his way to avoid jobs, economy and our defense.

Cut other Federal Jobs, privatize the post office, down scale gov. jobs. That will save a hell of a lot more then raising taxes! If we had a balanced federal budget with a large surplus I think HC can be swallowed but I cannot square anything he has done thus far as being an honest attempt. Not with who he has advising him.

The stimulus and healthcare are his two big pieces of new spending. The stimulus (in theory) is a one time deal and the healthcare bill is a fraction of the defense budget annually ... about 100 billion. Healthcare reform was coming no matter what ... I wish he had focused on jobs first and like I said it would be nice to see him tweak his priorities.

And honestly, I think the theory that Obama is trying to kill the country has about as much merit as the theory that Bush was going to install a theocracy and declare martial law in Novbember of 2008 to stay in power. That's glennbeck/michael moore crazy talk.

My vote , pull out of Iraq NOW, and Afganistan within 6 months.
Cut spending on the military by 50% and most other things by 20%.
Raise taxes esp on the most wealthy since they can afford it without starving or becoming homeless. Tax non earned money ie capital gains at 40%.
Make all medicare/govt money fraud a major felony and aggressively pursue the fraudsters
Increase penalties for corps breaking the law to 200% of whatever gross gains they realized due to the crime.
Of course this will extend the recession by a few more years...

Ohh and cut all elected officials future retirement benefits by 20% as well.
And put their medical care in with the rest of us.
And require any new congressional spending to be approved by a 2/3 majority in both houses.
And of course a balanced budget within 2 which must be reduced by 5% per year after that until it is reduced by 40%.
